You can run into all sorts of questionable characters just by stepping outside, but you certainly wouldn’t expect people like that to walk straight into a police station. Yet that’s exactly what happened in Los Angeles, California, when a woman calling herself “Daisy the Venice Healer” entered the premises and began ranting at an officer. To make her appearance even more striking, she wore a superhero costume and no shoes.
In a video shared on Reddit, Daisy can be seen shouting at a silent police officer. She rambled about refusing to acknowledge laws or border enforcement because, in her view, they weren’t real. Then, in a bizarre turn, she declared that the Los Angeles officer was actually a superhero like her, and that he should act accordingly. Moments later, she suddenly broke into tears, crying about wanting to see her child. She demanded that the officer call her mother, whom she accused of lying and refusing to let her see her kids. The woman kept flipping between pleading about her child and rambling about being a superhero.
Throughout the entire ordeal, the Los Angeles police officer remained quiet, awkwardly standing by while the woman jumped from one topic to the next. The woman went on like this for about three minutes before eventually leaving the station. Before walking out, however, she retrieved the slippers she had taken off upon entering, then finally exited the building.
Many internet users were left puzzled by the woman’s behavior. Some assumed she was drunk or high. “I’m not watching the video with audio, but judging by the dialogue and subtitles, she sounds very drunk,” one commenter said. Another quickly replied, “It’s psychosis.”
A different user supported that idea, claiming to know of her. “Yeah, she’s famous down in the Venice Beach area. Sad. Same thing happened to my friend’s wife. She went from being completely normal to schizophrenic during her pregnancy. After giving birth, the illness just got worse. Poor guy didn’t know what to do and ended up putting her in a care facility. But this lady’s family lets her wander the streets. She shows up a lot on the YouTuber German in Venice’s channel.”
While some commenters cracked jokes about “fixing her,” others pushed back, arguing it was inappropriate to mock someone clearly struggling with mental illness. One user wrote, “Thank you. I see this woman making the rounds on Reddit from time to time, and it makes me sad. Every time it’s the same comments about the ‘crazy-hot scale’ or ‘I can fix her.’ Very original, guys. Of course she thinks she’s the main character. Anyone in the middle of a full-blown manic episode does. That is a major feature of her illness.”
