A Black woman shopping at a Walgreens in downtown Chicago is using TikTok to identify a man she says was racist and threatening. She described the man as a Hispanic male, about 19 to 24 years old, who repeatedly bumped into her cart and hurled racial insults after she asked him to stop.
🚨 Battery/Racist Encounter at Walgreens – Chicago (200 W Adams) 🚨 I was on a work break, in a great mood, just stopping by Walgreens to grab some snacks for me and my daughter. This guy bumped into me a total of three separate times: 1️⃣ First bump: He walked in, hit me hard enough that my cart hit me. I looked back at him to see if he’d stop and apologize or something, but I let it go because I didn’t think it was that serious—I had to get my snacks. 2️⃣ Second bump: I was bent over reaching for candy in the aisle, and instead of just walking around me like a normal person or even simply saying excuse me, he literally walked through me and my cart. He sashayed through as if he did not just almost knock me over. That time I couldn’t ignore it. I confronted him calmly and said, “Hey, could you say excuse me next time? You’ve bumped into me twice.” I would’ve moved. 3️⃣ Third bump (caught on video): He exploded — cursing, saying “maybe you should get the f*** out the way,” and hurling insults. I stopped arguing and started recording. He then bumped into me again hard as if I wasn’t a person standing there with an entire cart. That first video catches his racist rant — calling me ghetto, saying “didn’t you suffer enough, your ancestors were slaves,” and more. I don’t like arguing with anyone at all, so my nerves were bad (which he calls me out on being jittery and scared). I don’t like arguing, I’m not a talker. So my voice was shaky and I was absolutely pissed. The conversation died, I left the aisle, went to check out, but he was in line ahead of me. I knew this wasn’t over and he was about to say something else to me (I was right), so I started recording again. This video catches him making threats under his breath — I asked him to repeat himself, and he confirmed it: “I’ll beat your ass and pull every single dread (braid) out of your head. I’ll make sure to leave you dreadless.” This is battery, hate speech, AND a direct threat. I filed a police report, gave them the videos, and now I’m posting here because someone knows him — and the detectives need his name. As a Black woman/POC, I am disappointed and disgusted in this whole thing. It is 2025, and we are still dealing with this — from someone who is also a person of color. I don’t like conflict, I don’t like arguing, and my nerves were shot after this. But I will not let this go, he F.A. and now he needs to F.O. 📍 Walgreens, 200 W Adams, Chicago 🧍🏽♂️ Young Hispanic male, ~19–24 years old Chicago, do your thing. In her TikTok video, she explained that the confrontation began when the man bumped into her cart hard enough to jolt her. Hoping it was accidental, she let it go and continued shopping. Minutes later, while leaning over to grab candy, she says he again bumped into her without a word. This time she calmly asked that he say “excuse me” if he needed to pass.
Her simple request set him off. In the video, the man can be heard cursing and mocking her. “Maybe you should get the f*** out the way,” he said, before sneering, “Didn’t you suffer enough? Your ancestors were f***ing slaves.” When she continued recording and asking what else he had to say, he added, “I’ll leave you dreadless,” which she took as a threat to pull out her hair. The tense exchange continued as they moved through the store. The man kept insulting her, calling her “ghetto,” taunting that her “breath stinks,” and daring her to retaliate. A bystander briefly stepped in, but their back-and-forth carried on even as they waited in the checkout line.

From the caption of the video, it appears the woman has since shared the footage with the police and has also filed a report against the other customer.
