When you visit a doctor, you expect to be treated professionally, with care, and to receive proper medical treatment. What you certainly don’t expect is for someone to openly brag about committing malpractice. Yet, as disturbing as it sounds, such people do exist. Recently, a video went viral on TikTok and across other social media platforms showing a dentist speaking at an event in California.
In the clip, the dentist explained how she had decorated her office with photos of various Republican politicians. She then began sarcastically sharing stories about her patients who had shown discomfort or dislike toward these political displays. On top of that, she bragged about wearing a hat that said “Make Your Smile Great Again,” a parody of the infamous MAGA slogan. Understandably, some patients were uncomfortable with this injection of partisan politics into what should be a neutral and safe medical environment.
But the most shocking part came when the dentist casually admitted to committing outright malpractice. While laughing and smiling as if it were all a joke, she described how, if a patient showed even the slightest sign of dislike toward MAGA or Republican figures, she would punish them. The California dentist claimed she would deliberately cut back on the nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, which dentists use to calm patients, reduce anxiety, and minimize pain during procedures. She then admitted to lying to these patients, telling them that everything was fine and normal, when in reality she was intentionally withholding medication and causing them unnecessary suffering.
The woman in the video was identified as Dr. Harleen Grewal, a pediatric dentist working at Skyline Smiles in Santa Clarita, California. Once the clip began circulating, it did not take long for it to explode online. Thousands of people immediately expressed horror, disgust, and outrage at her behavior. “Malpractice so funny 😂😂😂,” one user wrote sarcastically. Another pointed out the obvious: “She just admitted to malpractice. She needs to be sued.”
Because this took place at an official event, it was not difficult for online sleuths to identify her. Many tracked down her workplace, her license information, and even her husband. Some users quickly reported the dentist to the city and state authorities, insisting that someone who openly admits to harming patients over political beliefs should not be allowed to keep their medical license. “Her license number is 100849. You can send an email to the Dental Board of CA,” one user wrote, even providing the official link to the board’s contact page. Others suggested that people also report her to their insurance companies in order to put additional financial pressure on her.
Comment sections were filled with outrage, disbelief, and frustration. Many users could not comprehend how a doctor, a profession built on trust and the duty to do no harm, could be so willing to intentionally hurt patients simply because of their political opinions. “They are OBSESSED with inflicting pain and suffering on people who don’t agree with them,” one commenter wrote, summarizing the mood of many.
