At some point, most people have dealt with rude comments from internet strangers. Sometimes, their harassment blows past all ethical boundaries. An Arizona woman recently experienced one of those encounters when an older male named Lyle came at her via DM.
On September 26th, Lindsay M. Brown posted footage to her Arizona-based TikTok account. After a senior man chose to harass her, she wanted to help get the word out. She also addressed people’s sense of entitlement overall, in interactions with literal strangers online.
Lindsay started off by joking with her viewers. She suggested they issue a welfare check if they had a grandpa named Lyle. The senior was said to be triggered beyond what she’d ever experienced. He chose to cuss her out until she was forced to block him.
The Arizona influencer stated she’d never blocked anyone prior to this incident. Yet Lyle’s behavior had left her so rattled that she wanted to physically fight him. She expressed the opinion that no one should let him utilize the internet unsupervised at all. She then had a message for anyone else who felt it was appropriate to engage in harassment online:
If you feel the need to, like, throw strangers hate and cuss them at them and freak out on them on the internet, you belong in a facility. Like, a padded wall facility.
Lindsay went on to address the absurdity of stranger-based online harassment, comparing it to going after random people on the street. She likened both things to behavior she’d only expect from a person who was using drugs. She also claimed that in her real life, no one in her Arizona circle would ever respond that way.
Arizona Influencer Stands Against Harrassment
A bunch of Lindsay’s followers replied in solidarity, praising her humorous story on such a relatable problem.
One person joked that a stranger would be far from her first choice of person to bother cussing out.
Another addressed keyboard warriors, saying, “It amazes me how people act not only in general, but on the internet.”
Before she stopped recording, Lindsay maintained she was a really nice person, but also not the one to **ck with. In the video caption, she also jokingly expressed well wishes for Lyle, and hoped that he had a better day.
