Bystanders Catch Peeping Tom on Downtown Los Angeles Building: ‘He’s Done That Before’

That’s so scary

I think one of the most terrifying things that can ever happen to a person is finding someone starting in through your window in the middle of the night. Having lived in multiple-storey buildings for a long time, I haven’t had this fear because of how high up my windows are. However, now that I’ve seen the lengths that peeping toms will go to spy on someone, I might need to reconsider my fear. A bystander in Downtown Los Angeles, California, recorded a man who appeared to be looking through an apartment window on one of the higher floors of a building. I think I would have died if that were me.

Did we just save someone from an attempted murder in DTLA? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

โ™ฌ original sound – Sam DeLeon

The above video was taken by Sam DeLeon and posted to his TikTok account, @samde.leon. It features what appears to be a man standing on the edge of a window railing, peering into a window of an apartment building. Besides the fact that he’s peeping into someone else’s apartment, he’s standing on the side of the building on what is likely the fifth or sixth floor. After being recorded for a few seconds, the man recording decides to yell up at the man, asking him to be careful. Upon being noticed, the man peeping into the apartment jumps to a nearby stairwell and runs inside the building.

Watching the entire video feels insane, especially considering the follow-up post that shows just how dirty that particular window railing is, meaning that the man has likely done this before. That was definitely noticed by various commentators, with one person in particular saying, “That was a smooth getaway. Heโ€™s done that before.” Others were more focused on the seriousness of the situation, focusing on the stalking itself. One person even said, “As someone whoโ€™s dealt w a stalker PLEASE TELL THEM.” Fortunately, Sam took the video very seriously and returned to the apartment building the following day to report what he’d seen. Realistically, who knows what that man’s intentions were?

It’s genuinely horrifying to think about what could drive a person to risk their life and scale a building just to peer into someone else’s window. It’s even more horrifying to think that this person likely lives in the exact same building as well. I really hope that there are cameras in the building that captured who this person was so that more can be done concerning searching for him.
