What is with so many guys finding any way possible to make women uncomfortable? It seems to be an ongoing trend that we can’t move away from. A Florida woman had an encounter with one of these creatures while she was at her local gym. In a gym that was virtually empty, he chose to work out right next to her like a weirdo. Luckily for this woman, she knew exactly how to handle it. She took discomfort to a whole new level and threw it right back at him with hilarious results.
TikTok user Mavijuana got a good look at what she described as “‘Men’ are insufferable” in her video. “This is why women say ‘we pick the bear.’” She pans her camera to the stair climber right next to hers, showing a man who has decided to take that specific one. So why is this so unsettling? There are literally at least 20 other empty stair climbers all over the gym, but he just had to have the one right next to her. Why invade someone’s space when no one asked?
Mav goes on to say the man knows he’s being recorded, but continues to use the climber next to her. He even puts his head down because he doesn’t want to appear on camera, but Mav isn’t having it. She believes in calling men out for this weirdness. She continues to record while asking him why he chose the one right next to her, stating, “Now we’re both uncomfortable.”
According to Mav’s TikTok caption, this isn’t the first time this happened to her. She said it’s actually the third time in two weeks. As Mav says, “Men are always doing this – at the grocery store, in the line at banks, in the mall or anywhere else I go there’s always an Oompa Loompa gremlin lookin pathetic dude in my personal space and I’m over it.”
Mav ended up winning in the end. According to her, the man in the video moved after three minutes. Apparently, he couldn’t handle the awkwardness anymore. “NORMALIZE MAKING THEM JUST AS UNCOMFORTABLE,” as one commenter put it.
“I will legit get off and walk to another one,” another person said. A second commenter replied, “True. But it gets exhausting. Why do we always have to move for them?” She makes a fine point. Some men have the intention of making your space into their space, and that is not okay. More importantly, it’s okay to stand up for yourself.
