Most don’t particularly like it when they’re confronted by opposing stances, especially while out in public. Yet many can’t seem to resist conducting peaceful protests in populated places. While it’s their right, and we can’t do much about it, it doesn’t mean others are going to like it. This week, a Washington woman decided enough was enough. After regularly dealing with a protestor outside her local Walmart store, she utilized TikTok to vent her frustrations.
Lynnie, who’s also called tooterqueen on her TikTok channel, recently posted a video she called a Walmart rant. In the footage, she addressed her issues with seeing an“ignorant Karen” each time she chooses to shop at a particular Walmart location.
She let viewers know that the woman often stands outside the Washington Walmart entrance, protesting against the allowance of mixed-gender sports teams. Lynnie feels it’s ignorant to think that female athletes need protection from having male teammates. As an advocate for sports equality, she’s fed up with forced confrontations with the conservative woman, each time she chooses to shop at the store.
The Washington TikToker sat in her car, recording her opposing feelings:
Equality. Equal… If a girl wants to play on the football team, she’s more than welcome to… If a boy wants to be in ballet, he’s more than welcome to.
Lynnie continued to give more examples. She called for the normalization of girls on the wrestling team, and boys on the cheerleading squad. She then implored Karen to go somewhere else with her obnoxious opinions.
“I hate walking in with her standing here!” she emphasized, rolling her eyes.
Washington Walmart Rant Raises Questions
Some viewers shared Lynnie’s feelings, leaving support on her feed. Others didn’t understand why she let another person’s actions upset her so much.
Lynnie’s post sparks valid questions. Should public businesses, where shoppers of all beliefs frequent, allow political, religious, or ethical protests outside their establishments? It doesn’t just happen in Washington, and despite all the efforts to stop it, the U.S. is still a melting pot. At least, it is for now.
