Shopping at a Spirit Halloween store should be fun, but one customer got into a real-life scuffle with a North Carolina Karen who might need to brush up on what constitutes calling the police. The confrontation reportedly happened when Karen was in line to make her purchase at the beloved holiday-themed store. She seemingly didn’t like it when a younger woman called her out for her behavior toward the cashier.
The encounter was split between two TikTok videos. In the first video, the Karen can be seen checking out. Meanwhile, the woman revealed in the caption that she began filming after the customer began making inappropriate comments to the Indian woman working behind the register, including asking her where she was “even from.” For the record, she was from North Carolina.
The Karen appeared to be agitated by the woman recording her. She even remarked to the cashier that she wished she had continued taking kickboxing lessons, making social media users wonder if that was supposed to be a thinly veiled threat. The Karen tells the woman recording that she should mind her own business before walking out the door and saying, “I’ll see you outside.”
North Carolina Karen Goes Off At Spirit Halloween
In the second video, the second woman walks out of the store, still recording. The Karen did wait for her. She then began following her through the parking lot and told her that the cops were coming from her. The woman behind the camera laughed off the interaction, revealing that the Karen was trying to have her arrested for having a bad attitude, in her opinion.
“Anyone know this racist karen in Wilmington? She was accosting a female employee at the local Spirit Halloween. I wasn’t having it. Why do they love calling the cops for minor inconveniences?” the caption of the video read.
TikTok immediately began to share its thoughts on the encounter. Of course, the majority of the comments were in favor of the person recording and making jokes about the Karen.
“Trump is making these people way to comfortable,” one person declared. “Was the mention of kickboxing supposed to lay down some intimidation?” another asked. “She never kicked anything in her life,” a third person chimed in. “Us spooky people don’t tolerate hate,” a fourth comment stated.
It seems that no matter where you go, there is always someone who ruins the vibe. Just like there are people who will always stand up for others, like the North Carolina Spirit Halloween costume, who took on the Karen during her shopping trip.
