Sometimes it’s the little things people do for others that make all the difference in our lives. A photographer in Florida decided she was going to do something sweet when she ran into an elderly couple enjoying each other’s company at a café. As she said, “I never expected to cry at brunch yesterday… but this couple’s story changed everything.” It turns out, the two people she photographed had quite the story to tell.

@ajstuart124

Yesterday, my husband and I woke up and randomly decided to go to our favorite French café for brunch in Winter Garden @rosallielefrenchcafe. We hadn’t been in over a year, and never on a busy Sunday… the line was out the door. Maybe a 15-minute wait just to order at the counter before sitting down. In front of me was SuZ-Anne, 78. She kept popping out of line to peek out the window at her husband, Joe, sitting on the patio. She turned around and started chatting with me and the girl in front of me, reminiscing about the many times they’d been there. She told us she and John have been coming to this café for 20 years. They used to ride their bikes here almost every day, and she even remembers when it first opened. About three years ago, they had to stop biking because John has Alzheimer’s. Now they live about 45 minutes away, but she still drives them here once a week to keep the memory alive. I had my camera with me, and I told her, “This is really random, but I’m a photographer. Would you like me to take some photos of you and your husband at your favorite place?” She started crying—so overjoyed. It was truly special, and I’m so glad I could capture this memory for them. ❤️🥹 #brunch #photographerstories #rosallielefrenchcafe #lovestories #reallifemovie

Photographer Alexis Stuart shared her interaction on TikTok, wherein she met an elderly couple at the Rosallie Le French Café. She approaches the couple and asks them if they’d like their pictures taken. The elderly woman says, “I will pay you,” but AJ tells tells them she’s doing this for free. She knows they’ll appreciate the memory together. When she pans the camera back to the elderly woman, you can see her nodding with tears in her eyes. It’s safe to assume she’s absolutely moved by the offer.

AJ shows the photos she took, which are so heartwarming it would make anyone melt. In them, you can see the couple smiling proudly as they hold hands and enjoy each other’s company. What’s particularly special is just how natural they look loving one another. This gives me all the feels!

AJ shared that she spoke with the couple and learned a lot about their relationship together. Suz-Anne, aged 78, kept popping out of line so that she could see her husband, John, who she is clearly enamored by. She told AJ that she and John have been coming to this café for two decades. Even though John has Alzheimer’s, she said they still continue to come here as a way to “keep the memory alive.”

“As a caregiver this is everything. What you did for her is pure kindness. May your pillow always be cool and you always hit the green lights when needed,” said one top comment. “The picture when she’s around his neck! Ugh! You are so special for this,” said another, along with a heart. Who said love is dead? Now excuse me while I go hug my partner!
