Kiss member Gene Simmons‘ wife Shannon Tweed could be laying down the law with the rebellious rocker very soon. Simmons gave his family and fans quite a scare earlier this week after he was involved in a scary car crash in Malibu.
Gene Simmons was taken to a nearby hospital on Tuesday after he crashed the SUV he was driving. Various news outlets reported that the 76-year-old Kiss member crashed his Lincoln Navigator into a parked car. According to the National Enquirer sources, Simmons told the authorities that he felt as if he had either passed out or fainted while driving.
His SUV reportedly crossed several lanes of traffic before colliding with a parked car. Fortunately, no one was injured, and Gene walked away without a scratch. Now, his wife, Shannon Tweed, is pushing for major lifestyle changes that he may not welcome.

Gene Simmons’ car crash left both him and his family shaken. When asked, Shannon Tweed said only that Gene was doing well.
Shannon Tweed Calls In Back Up To Deal With Gene Simmons
Tweed had strong opinions about his driving. She’s done riding with her husband and, while she admits she hasn’t told him directly yet, she wants him off the road.
“I’m not driving with him anymore,” Shannon claims she told herself.
Shannon claims she is not alone with her feelings about taking Gen’s keys soon. She says she will have plenty of backup from the couple’s two children, Nicholas and Sophie. This is not the singer’s first serious crash. The family had previously encouraged Gene to hire a driver after another fender bender in Los Angeles, when he rammed his car into a brick wall.
So what caused Gene Simmons’ recent accident? Shannon Tween says she has a couple of theories. She believes dehydration and a new medication could have played a part in the Rock and Roll All Night hitmaker’s accident.
Shannon also reveals another scary detail of Gene’s accident. She says the airbags in Simmons’ SUV never deployed during the crash. So this accident could have had a much worse outcome. The vehicle sustained visible damage, with its bumper left dangling, but the rock legend reportedly brushed it off and spent the day chatting on the phone as if nothing had happened.
Gene Simmons Faces Harsh Reality
While Gene Simmons is shrugging off the seriousness of his car crash, Shannon is making plans. For now, she is okay with him taking short drives. But in the near future, she and her children are going to have quite a time convincing the Demon to hand over his keys.

Sadly, Gene Simmons’ age, health, and now his ability to drive safely have become a serious concern. Losing consciousness at the wheel is not only dangerous to the driver but also to those around him. But there is no doubt that Shannon and family will have quite a fight on their hands when the time comes to force Gene Simmons to slow down, and give up not only his car keys, but some of his freedom.
