Mellissa Carone, who calls herself MAGA Mama, is clearly offended by the existence of Muslim churches. This grifter resides in Michigan and has created multiple TikTok videos focused on bashing mosques in the area. Her conspiracies in modern politics have been harmful, to say the least. She alleged in a 2020 affidavit that ballots were wrongly counted in Michigan during the 2020 election. Now she’s sticking to harassing Muslims throughout her home state.
The Happy Atheist made a TikTok video spliced with his own thoughts, as well as one of Mellissa’s current videos. In the video, she shows the “biggest mosque in Dearborn” behind her. She goes on to say it’s not only biggest in Dearborn, but biggest in the entire US. Mellissa states “3,000 people come here to worship.” She points out two other surrounding churches that are a lot smaller in size. Then, she uses this to state, “Every single time a church goes up in Birmingham, they put up a mosque ten times the size right next to it.”
This isn’t Mellissa’s first rodeo with mosques. The call to prayer annoys her and isn’t very American in her eyes. Mellissa also focuses on the fact this massive mosque uses a call for prayer five times a day. As The Happy Atheist responds, “With over 3,000 people coming they probably can’t fit everybody in the building and they probably have a place of prayer outside,” so a loudspeaker outside is necessary.
The Happy Atheist points out there are two churches next to the mosque, probably Christian churches at that. They probably teach very similar ideals inside their walls. He said it makes sense to have one big mosque teaching every Muslim person the same thing. He says, “They don’t need multiple different types of mosques in one location,” and Mellissa is probably just “mad that their build is bigger.”
“She knows she can leave Dearborn right?” one commenter asked. “Dearborn is majority Muslim. Has been for almost 100 years,” another pointed out.
A pastor himself said, “I’m a pastor. Thanks for posting this. I can’t even really figure out what her complaint is. I’d love to have my church next to a mosque like that instead of surrounded by other churches with no differentiation in belief. Joint services with a mosque during holidays would be amazing.”
Well, those all sound like rational ideas and solutions. Unfortunately, Mellissa’s rants only make sense when you realize it’s just a grift. The mosques aren’t a problem until they’re made one, especially when her problems can also be said of Christian churches. Not to mention the U.S. is a melting pot of cultures!
