So many people in this world have that one neighbor they just can’t stand. Whether it’s because they’re nosy or even noisy, there are many reasons why neighbors just can’t get along. But two neighbors in Shakopee, Minnesota are taking it to a whole new level. The two have been in a dispute for some time due to a debate over a shared driveway. Now, the police have been called hundreds of times to their residences.
According to a TikTok video shared by @fox9mn, Shakopee neighbors Juan Salas and Jessica Keil just can’t get along. And it doesn’t take us long to understand why. Salas rolls out a giant nutcracker and posts “Please do not feed the [expletive] drugs” signs directed at Keil’s yard. Salas says that he wants her to stop harassing him, which is why he’s gone to this level. When a news reporter asks Keil how she feels about this and asks her if she uses crack, she says, “I do not.” Both neighbors claim that the other is harassing them.
The situation is so dire that police arrived at both their homes an astounding 232 times in just one year alone. Police have also spent 260 hours on scene at both houses. The incidents that prompted a police presence? Salas records Keil when she’s outside and shines lights onto her property. Keil, however, really took the cake with her harassment. She hung up an ICE flag that reads “Deport Them All – I SUPPORT ICE.” This is horrendous, as Salas is Mexican. Now, both Salas and Keil have restraining orders against each other.
Keil appears tearful on camera as she tells reporters, “They continuously come after me and antagonize me.” The fact that this level of harassment is happening over a shared driveway that has been there for 35 years is insane. Salas even painted lines showing where the other neighbor can park. However, that didn’t stop the dispute. Even with the lines, each one continues to block the other one from entering or leaving at different times. This is especially odd, as Keil has a second way to access her garage but Salas does not. It takes petty to another level. As local police comment on the matter, “This is without question a colossal waste of resources in taxpayer dollars right now. And they don’t seem to care.”
As one commenter mentioned, “Umm throwing spikes and racial intimidation is way worse than wearing costumes and flashlights.” Both their actions are uncalled for. However, the comments based on somebody’s race are unnecessary and really shows Keil’s true colors. Another person pointed out, “She has another way to access her house but he does not. Blocking the ONLY access someone has to their property is rude. It’s not that hard to figure out where the problem is coming from…” However, law enforcement hasn’t been able to figure it out. Hopefully, things don’t escalate from here. But something tells me these neighbors are never going to get along and I understand why.
