Most people working in customer service develop pet peeves and annoyances related to their jobs. An Uber driver working in Phoenix, Arizona, recently shared hers on TikTok. In a short PSA to those using car services, she told them to pay more attention to their mobile phones when waiting for their rides.
The driver, who goes by Coach Centearious on her TikTok channel, chided those distractedly waiting on Uber and Lyft after they call in for services. She candidly spoke about being annoyed whenever those who ordered rides in Phoenix, Arizona’s congested traffic areas, aren’t reachable by phone. Despite her agitation that many don’t answer their calls, she delivered her message with plenty of amusing undertones:
Do you play hide-and-seek with your phone after you order? Like, even [with] food. You ordered something to come to you, and then you disregard the device that is used to contact you. I don’t understand.
She then went on to talk about a recent frustrating ordeal. She was trying to pick up her passenger from a Phoenix venue on October 10th. The passenger, however, wasn’t answering her texts. She was also dodging calls, which were going straight to voicemail. Although she could see where the woman was standing via her shared location, she was unable to get her attention.
Phoenix Uber Driver Cancels Her Passenger’s Ride
In such a busy area, and during a jam-packed event, Coach couldn’t just pull over. She needed to coordinate somewhere safe to meet up with the passenger, who she could see at the corner. As there was not a Suns game in Phoenix this past weekend, it remains unclear exactly what event she was trying to navigate through. Despite this, Coach claims there were at least a thousand people outside of her stop. Due to the woman’s repeated refusal to answer Uber’s messages in a timely manner, Coach says that she canceled the ride.
“At that point, I don’t feel bad for canceling on you. You’re a moron,” she declared. Whether or not they agree with her, let’s hope the woman in Phoenix still made it home okay!
