A family in Virginia may have gotten their Halloween scare early this year. The unsuspecting brood had to deal with a scene straight out of a horror movie when they found three masked individuals standing on their lawn, approaching their front door, and even trying to open the door to gain entry into the house. Of course, it was all caught on their Ring camera, and the footage is nothing short of spooky.
In the video, a person wearing a Michael Myers mask and jumpsuit can be seen approaching the door. Later, a person wearing a scary nun mask, and one wearing a horrifying clown costume, also get close as they jiggle the handle of the door. After they were unable to get into the home, they simply stood on the front lawn staring creepily at the house.
When the resident of the home, named Shayla, used the Ring camera speaker function to ask who the trio was, they responded in a chilling way. “Your worst nightmare,” they replied. The family did not let the threesome inside the home, and they made it clear that it wasn’t a joke or prank by someone they knew.
Virginia Family Gets A Terrible Scare
“As an educator, I did think it was a prank. I said ‘Happy Halloween’ when they first came,” she explained to ABC 7. However, Shayla said she soon realized it was no Halloween trick. “I asked them to then get off the property, and when they didn’t, I realized it wasn’t a joke anymore. I’m not taking it lightly, and I just feel as if my mom is really fearful now because we don’t know who they are,” she added.
On social media, people couldn’t help but compare the incident to a scary movie. “This gives me ‘The Strangers’ movie vibes!!,” one person commented on TikTok. “This went on way too long,” said another. “Halloween isn’t fun anymore. Keep ur lights off lock ur doors and they need to do trunk and treat from now on. What is this world coming to. Raise ur kids better to be better adults,” a third person wrote. “These are one of the reasons I don’t like Halloween!” a fourth person chimed in.
We can only hope that this was a prank gone wrong by some people who may know the Virginia family, who were looking for a little mischievous Halloween fun. However, with the current state of the world, these types of pranks can simply not be taken lightly.
