People have preferences when it comes to music. Some people love pop, others prefer classic rock, and a few will always argue that their favorite genre is the only real kind of music. At the end of the day, it is all about personal taste, or at least, it should be. Unfortunately, not everyone sees it that way. For one FedEx driver in Texas, a regular delivery turned into an uncomfortable encounter when a man stomped toward him, furious about his choice of music. The driver had been listening to Hall & Oates while making his rounds, minding his own business, when a visibly drunk man approached and started berating him. The reason was simple. The man apparently could not stand the song that was playing.

According to the video and witness reports, the Texas man began yelling at the driver, aggressively demanding that he turn the music off. Despite the confrontation, the driver stayed calm and polite, simply wanting to finish his work and move on. But the man did not let up. Things escalated quickly as the drunk Texan tried to get in the driver’s face and even attempted to grab him.

Feeling threatened, the FedEx worker backed away and stepped into his truck to create some distance. He told the man to back off, but the two soon got into a heated verbal exchange. Insults and threats were exchanged, with the drunk man growing increasingly hostile and unpredictable.

At one point, the driver told the Texas man he would not be returning to that address again. The drunk man replied that he did not care and that he would just use UPS instead. As the FedEx driver drove away, he noticed the man staring intensely at the back of his truck, seemingly trying to memorize the license plate number. It was an unsettling detail that made the whole situation even creepier.

When the story spread online, people were both baffled and amused. Many could not understand why the man hated Hall & Oates so much. “Who doesn’t like Hall & Oates?” one commenter asked. Others praised the FedEx driver for standing his ground and not allowing himself to be bullied. One user wrote, “Seems like you matched his energy and he didn’t like it 🤷‍♂️😂.” Another added, “You ain’t never gotta be the bigger person. Just finish what they start.”

Not everyone, however, sided with the driver. Some internet users pointed out that blasting music while on the job is not very professional, no matter the song. “He might be an asshole, but professionally you should never be blasting music,” one TikTok user said. “Put in earbuds. Not everybody wants to hear your playlist.”

A few others warned the driver to be careful with his employer. Even though most viewers supported him, companies like FedEx often side with customers in disputes. “Just be careful with your job,” one commenter wrote. “They have a habit of taking the customer’s side.”
