How much space do you have?
This is the first question you need to ask yourselves โ how much space do you have. A follow-up question to that is how are you going to use that space? If you donโt have a lot of space, then that will affect the size of the desk you are going to be able to get. This is one advantage of a standing desk โ it doesnโt take up much room.

Do you work purely online, or will you need some space for physical documents? If you work online, then you just need a small, fairly simple desk. If you do work which involves physical documents, then you will need more space for them to be on your desk, especially if there are a lot, and you need to refer to them often.

It all depends on where the desk is, and what it is normally used for. Wood is the normal choice for most desks, but it can be expensive and heavy, and in some cases, it isnโt a good choice. What quality is the desk?
