An early morning gas station visit for a teenager in Caldwell, Idaho, turned into a traumatic experience after an old man from an industrial company became hostile towards him. The old man even assaulted and harassed the teenager, accusing him of being an immigrant and a thief, supposedly because of his Hispanic appearance and accent.
It’s not clear what led up to the altercation, but in the video, you can see the old man, identified as 81-year-old Bobby Nalley, grabbing the young man by the hair, identified as David Romero, threatening him to “knock your [expletive] face in” before shoving away the phone and then grabbing the youngster again by the collar. At the end, Nalley’s motivations became apparent when he said, “You’re not a local, you’re a [expletive] immigrant,” something that Romero responded to with, “I was literally born here!”
According to Romero, he “Just got off to the gas station to get a Gatorade and this is how am I treated getting called a illegal immigrant,” on his official Instagram account. Apparently, Bob Nalley accused him of stealing or being a thief, based on his ethnicity, which was probably why he also threatened to call the cops on Romero.
Bob Nalley has been identified as an owner of the B&E P.E.C.S. based in Headlton, Oklahoma. It’s unclear what he was doing in an Idaho gas station early in the morning. It appears that people online want Romero to press hate crime charges against the old man, though no update has been made public on how much progress he has made regarding the issue, as Idaho and Oklahoma have different jurisdictions.
People online are condemning the old man
Because of the information present on Bob Nalley’s truck, many people appear to have called the company, likely to complain about its owner’s behavior. One social media user from X, however, claimed that, “They kept on hanging up on me. Their mailbox is full.” Others have rallied in support of David Romero for experiencing such a traumatic hate crime at a young age.
“Hey, Ms. Ellen Nalley, you better come get your goddamn husband! He has rabies, and he suffers from Charlie KKKirk disease,” according to an Instagram user who is currently helping David Romero. Some Instagram users have also claimed that Bob Nalley’s voting records show he’s a Republican, to which many replied that it was to be expected.
Surprisingly enough, another company with a similar name, B&E Pest Control, has somehow taken the heat because of people wrongly reporting the supposed hate crime. B&E Pest Control’s co-owner has since advised people to ensure they make their reports against B&E P.E.C.S. accurate so as not to tarnish B&E Pest Control’s reputation, which is not related to the supposed hate crime or to Bob Nalley.
