The spotlight has been on King Charles since he urged his brother Andrew to give up his royal title as Duke. It’s clear to many followers of the Royal Family that Charles knows a lot more than he’s letting on, not that he speaks much about his brother publicly in the first place. The punishment of relinquishing a royal title is better than missing out on Christmas dinner, but the people want to know how much the King actually knows. And during a royal engagement, one openly demanded answers from the King about his knowledge of Andrew’s connection to Epstein.
“How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein?” the fan shouts during King Charles’s meetup at Lichfield Cathedral. Needless to say, the monarch passed on by without acknowledging the question or even looking at the protestor. One Royalist in the crowd in front of the interrogator was quite upset and turned around, seemingly shouting, “Shut up!” According to the chief executive of the anti-monarchy Republic group, the man shouting was just “doing their own thing, which we fully support,” per the Mirror.
“The royals need to be challenged, and if the politicians won’t do the job and the police won’t investigate, then more and more members of the public will be asking tough questions.”
While this statement certainly comes from a place of wanting to dethrone the current monarchy, the CEO isn’t wrong, as many people are asking questions. The fact that Andrew has finally forced Charles to put his foot down would imply the King knows what skeletons are hiding in the Prince’s closet. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been vilified as “threats” to the Royal Family since the Sussexes have publicly denounced the Palace. However, many see Andrew and the King’s inaction as bigger threats than the wayward son and his wife.

“And they were worried about ‘protecting the monarchy’ from HARRY?” exclaimed one Redditor reacting to the protestor’s interrogation on King Charles. “Harry & Meghan told the truth,” remarked another, pointing out how the Sussexes revealed many things about the Royal Family, both in interviews and the Prince’s memoir, Spare. One random American added with hope, “When they’re done in the UK, can they come here and do the same to Trump?” Indeed, the President of the US could know a thing or two about Andrew and Epstein as well.
This isn’t the first time someone has come out demanding a response from King Charles. Last year, the Mirror reported that an Aboriginal Australian independent senator accused the monarch of genocide while ordering Charles to “give us back what you stole from us.” The King, of course, reacted in the same way he did with the person at Lichfield Cathedral: handshaking autopilot mode.
