Sean Diddy Combs Granted Prison Upgrade: ‘Appeal Is Pending’

Closer to Family

Sean Diddy Combs spent years living large in mansions and flying on private jets. Now his view is nothing but concrete walls and razor wire. The hip-hop mogul has officially arrived at his new home, the federal correctional institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, where he will serve the remainder of his 50-month sentence. While his fans hold out hope for an early release, Diddy faces a reality behind bars that is far from glamorous.

Sources confirm to ABC News that Diddy was quietly transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to FCI Fort Dix. This facility is the one his legal team requested. Currently, he is not in the general population; instead, he is reportedly housed in a separate drug program unit.

Sean Diddy Combs’ attorneys are also working overtime to fast-track his appeal, arguing that he could serve his full time before the case is even heard. His legal team insists prosecutors misapplied the outdated Mann Act. This is a century-old law originally tied to transporting women across state lines. Diddy and his team are still fighting to overturn his conviction. But for the time being, the disgraced rapper will be serving his time and hoping for a little mercy.

Sean Diddy Combs Looks For Hope From Trump Pardon Or Appeal

Before his transfer, Combs spent over a year in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. A place known for its notoriously rough conditions. Inmates have long called out MDC-Brooklyn for extreme overcrowding. Filthy facilities, poor medical care, and freezing temperatures during the winter months only add to the grim picture.

For someone like Sean Diddy Combs, who was once accustomed to five-star comfort. The prison environment was a brutal dose of reality. While Diddy adjusts to his new surroundings, his eyes are still on the outside.

He’s banking on two possible exits. One, his appeal being expedited, or two, the long-shot of a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. The 55-year-old mogul has reportedly reached out to the president. But so far, those pleas seem to have gone unanswered.

“An expedited briefing and argument schedule is critical to ensure that Mr. Combs’s appeal of his sentence does not become moot while the appeal is pending,” defense attorney Alexandra Shapiro said in a new filing.

If all goes according to plan, his release date is set for May 8, 2028. Assuming he maintains good behavior and completes his rehabilitation programs. But between his legal fight and possible political connections, the timeline could still shift.

It’s been one huge, dramatic fall for a man once known for million-dollar parties and chart-topping hits. These days, he’s keeping a low profile, with gray hair and a much quieter demeanor.

Whether it’s through an appeal, a pardon, or plain old time served. The day Sean Diddy Combs walks free, he is well aware that everyone will be watching.
