Woody Harrelson, known for his roles in Now You See Me, No Country for Old Men, and White Men Can’t Jump, has recently slammed President Donald Trump. In a now-viral clip, Harrelson wished there were a way to remove Trump from office, saying that he has “unearthed a lot of bigotry and a lot of racism.”
In a recent TikTok shared by celebsagainsttrump25, Harrelson is seen expressing his distaste for the Trump administration during an interview.
“I wish there was a way to get rid of that son of a [expletive] and get in a great president, you know, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen,” the actor said. “And, like, I don’t know how much he’s going to continue to foment hatred.”
Harrelson went on to say that Trump has “unearthed a lot of bigotry and a lot of racism,” both of which seem to be “more virulent than ever.”
“So, yeah, it’s strange how we just, it seems like we’re going backward,” he concluded.
This is not the first time Woody Harrelson has spoken about Trump in not-so-friendly terms. Back in 2019, he talked with Esquire about a 2002 dinner he had with Trump, Melania, and Jesse Ventura. Harrelson called it a “brutal wedding.”
“Now, at a fair table with four people, each person is entitled to 25 percent of the conversation, right?” he said. “I’d say Melania got about 0.1 percent, maybe. I got about 1 percent. And the governor, Jesse, he got about 3 percent. Trump took the rest.”
Harrelson even added that he had to “go outside and burn one” before going back to the “monologue monopoly.”
Mixed Reactions
The response to Harrelson’s latest remarks was mixed. Many criticized him and declared that they won’t be watching any of his movies.
“He should only stick to movies. I won’t watch him anymore,” one user commented. A second one said, “Actors should stay out of politics and keep it to themselves.” A third one elaborated, “These celebrities live in their own world. You think they care about the people of America? They don’t, they have everything they need.”
Others agreed and celebrated Woody Harrelson, with one user writing, “Even high as a kite Woody makes more sense than maga.” Another person said, “My estimation of Woody Harrelson as a man just skyrocketed.” A third one added, “My sweet vegan Woody is too good for this world.”
Whether you love him or hate him, Woody Harrelson surely doesn’t hold back.
