Working in the fast food industry isn’t for the weak. Employees at places like McDonald’s and Taco Bell are constantly dealing with rude customers, dramatic moments, and the pay surely doesn’t reflect the amount of chaos that can come with the job. However, one Tennessee woman didn’t seem to care about all of that when she decided to make a mess at her local Hardee’s after lodging a complain about her order.
In a TikTok video posted by user @trell.mj.prince, an older woman turned into a real Karen when she decided she wasn’t happy with the state of her fast food meal. So, she took it back up to the counter and decided to dump it out for the employees to see.
The clip, which garnered more than 770,000 views and over 52,000 likes, starts off with the woman’s fries already thrown across the counter and two employees standing in front of her trying to diffuse the situation. The Karen, dressed in all black, is seen opening up her sandwich and showing one of the workers why she has an issue. She can be heard saying, “I don’t know what that’s got to do with anything” as she tries to make her point.
“We’re gonna fix your order, ma’am,” a man behind the counter tells her. He then asks his co-worker if he remembers what the woman’s original order was. “I had a number one,” the Karen quickly interjects.

The female employee then spouts off the order that was supposed to be given to the customer as she cleans up the mess that the Karen had made all over the counter before looking up at the person filming the confrontation and smiling.
When the Karen tries to speak to the female employee again, she tells the customer, “I’m just trying to do my job and go home,” which is a relatable statement that many, especially fast food workers likely understand. “Bless your heart,” the Karen replies.
As the customer waits for her order to be remade, she is later seen yelling at someone else behind the counter. “Come here. Come here,” she shouts. However, that person seems to ignore her, so she asks for his name, likely ready to call the corporate office as soon as she gets the chance.
The customer then stands in front of the counter with a scowl on her face until the female employee asks her to move aside so that she can take the order of the man filming.
TikTok couldn’t help but comment on the rude Tennessee woman’s behavior at the Hardee’s, but unfortunately, it’s nothing new on the internet.
“God forbid a boomer is inconvenienced,” one person commented. “I’ll just never understand people getting so mad at a fast food joint. All you have to do is be polite and tell them your order is wrong. They will gladly fix it and often they will give you something free just for being nice about about,” said another.
The Tennessee Karen might have had a bad experience getting her food, but the internet couldn’t help but praise the employees for keeping their cool when she was out of line. Otherwise, this may have been a very different kind of video.
