Teaching elementary school is not for the faint of heart. Whether you’re dealing with tweens on the daily, or tying shoes every few minutes, teachers really are unsung heroes. One Kindergarten teacher in Dallas, Texas is revealing one of the more amusing, yet challenging, sides of dealing with young children, in the form of a tattle phone. This is a device where the students can record a message telling on their classmates.
In true Kindergarten chaotic fashion, the Texas teacher sat down after a long day in the classroom and listened to the messages from her class. Before even picking up the phone to listen to the drama, the teacher knew there was about to be a lot going on.
“I’m not gonna lie. I’m a little bit nervous, because the line for this phone today was wrapped around the building the Black Friday,” she joked in the TikTok video. Immediately, the teacher began hearing standard complaints that one would expect from 5-year-old children. There were allegations of students copying one another, kids playing in the hallway when they weren’t supposed to be.

However, the most dramatic of stories came from one student who was so upset about a boy named Kingston bending his straw that she recorded not one, but two long messages trying to get his point across. Another little girl named Gigi revealed that one of her classmates was “ruining her fun” during lunch. To this, the teacher said, “That’s Gigi, and she doesn’t tattle unless it’s for real.”
Meanwhile, throughout the entirety of the recordings, one name came up over and over: Ezekiel. The boy seemed to have rubbed many of his classmates the wrong way that day, and they told on him for a number of things, such as “being mean,” pushing, and talking about others’ family members.
Later, Ezekiel even got on the phone himself to record a message. However, he wasn’t telling on anyone. He decided to give his teacher a compliment, even calling her “cute,” as if he knew he needed to butter her up a bit after the day he had.
Perhaps the best part of the video was the teacher’s reaction. She took it all in with humor, knowing that her class was prone to these little spats and drama. Of course, social media couldn’t get enough of it.
“Ezekiel, lawyer up,” one person commented on the video. “Ezekiel’s PR team advised him to hop on and do some damage control when they saw that long line,” another joked. “That straw conflict was CRITICAL,” a third comment read. “Like a soap opera,” a fourth comment read. It appears that this Texas Kindergarten classroom has more drama than people may realize. However, TikTok is definitely invested.
