Family reunions always tend to be emotional. However, one South Carolina reunion had social media smiling from ear to ear when an ordinary family celebration for one man’s 60th birthday turned into a surprise moment that he’s sure to remember for the rest of his life. His family orchestrated a heart-warming moment that made everyone misty-eyed and reminded them of the importance of family bonds and brotherly love.
The TikTok clip, posted by user @LivingLifeLyndsey, starts off with the birthday boy answering his front door for what he believes is a regular DoorDash order. The man takes the bag from the delivery person and thanks him. He then attempts to shut the door and go back to his birthday celebration. That’s when the “DoorDasher” speaks up.
Wearing a black cap with a conspicuous GoPro camera on top, jeans, a button-down shirt, and a pair of sunglasses, the DoorDasher looks at his brother with disbelief. He was in on the surprise reunion, but his sibling didn’t recognize him. “You guys don’t tip?” he jokingly says to keep the conversation going.
South Carolina Man Reunited With His Brother After 12 Years
However, the man still doesn’t notice that the delivery man is none other than his own brother, whom he hasn’t seen in nearly 12 years. Instead, he’s a bit taken aback, “Okay, fine” he says, digging into his pocket to find some money for the tip. He hands the deliveryman some money. “Thank you, sir. Happy birthday,” he replies to him before the man finally figures out what’s going on.
After the realization, he yells, “Hey,” and then pulls his brother into a big bear hug. The two embrace in a very sweet way as the rest of the family laughs and cheers about the reunion. “That was awesome,” someone can be heard saying off-camera. “I can’t believe this,” the birthday boy declares with a huge smile on his face.
Just before the video ends, the faux deliveryman asks his brother, “Do you want your tip back?” and he hilariously waves him off. “No, you keep it,” he says, seemingly overjoyed to see his sibling for the first time in more than a decade. Later, the video creator wrote in the comment section, “They in fact played all day and had a sleepover,” bringing even more happiness to her invested viewers.
“He definitely wasn’t expecting him,” one person commented. “This is amazing,” another declared. “I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear. Thank you for sharing this!” a third person chimed in. “Why am I crying?” a fourth comment read.
Hopefully, the South Carolina man had the best birthday and got to spend tons of quality time with his brother. Now that they’ve reunited again, let’s hope it won’t be another 12 years before they see each other again.
