There is a lot of harm in accusing people of color of a crime without having proper evidence against them. Realistically, black people have faced racism all across the world for simply existing or being in the same space as others. A Miami, Florida, officer really showed how true this statement is when he harassed a black man for being on a private boat, despite being told multiple times that the boat belonged to him. It’s almost as though the officer just doesn’t want to listen.
The above video was posted to the TikTok account @ayehxncho, which belongs to Huncho, a lifestyle vlogger who typically posts about his wealth and luxurious lifestyle. In this particular video, he can be seen arguing with an officer of some kind of being on a boat that’s docked in a marina in Miami, Florida.
According to the caption on the video, the officer was called by someone else, “POV: Random guy called the police on me for “trespassing” on my boat 😐.” Despite telling the officer that the boat belonged to him, the cop still asked for proof of ownership. Unfortunately, Huncho had his paperwork at home, but he did have the boat’s registration on hand, which showed that not only was the boat his, but it was registered under his company’s name as well.

Eventually, having heard the commotion, a second man comes out from inside the boat and starts eyeing the officer. It’s likely at this point that the cop decided to let things go, especially considering the silence that soon follows. It’s at this point that the officer, as well as a few other people (likely the ones who initially called the police) tells the two men to “have a good day” before leaving.
The comments immediately blew up, with many people accusing the officer of racism, with the top comment saying, “They hate seeing a brother do good!” Others also noted the cop’s demeanor after the white man showed up, with a different comment saying, “You’ve got to have a white man in your crew if you’re black in America. The tone changed as soon as John Smith walked out.”
There hasn’t been an update video made to explain what happened after the situation, so it’s probably safe to assume that things were handled peacefully. Regardless, it’s a shame that this conversation happened in the first place.
