Christmas is the time of year when kids are excited about gifts, winter activities, and family gatherings. Meanwhile, their parents can often be stressed out about scheduling holiday programs, family meals, parties, shopping, and more. Enter the Elf on the Shelf. A little elf that claims to be sent from the North Pole to watch over the kids at home and report back to Santa. The one rule of the elf is that you can’t touch it. So after her daughters weren’t behaving, one Texas mother took things to the next level to try to turn around her girls’ attitudes.
The Texas woman records her daughters, Sawyer and Murphy Claire, sitting in front of their Christmas tree. At first, it looks like an adorable holiday scene. However, it’s clear that these girls have pushed their mother to the limit. Since little Murphy Claire touched the family’s original elf, Scout, a new one named Sugar came to take his place. A letter was then left by Sugar, who tells the girls she’s very “disappointed” in them.
Sugar, aka Mom, tells the girls that they haven’t been behaving well. They’ve been hitting each other, not listening, and Murphy Claire not only touched poor Scout, sending him to the elf hospital, but also opened her Christmas presents early.
Texas Mom Puts Daughters On Naughty List
The letter continues on, revealing that the girls will have to behave better if they want to get off of the naughty list. This includes treating each other nicely, picking up their toys, getting themselves dressed in the morning, and more.
While Murphy Claire hilariously seems unfazed by the letter, Sawyer had a very different reaction. She curled up against the wall with her head down and began to sob. While some people in the comment section called the gesture a bit much, others were all for it. Many even had jokes.
“Murphy planning to make the snitching elf disappear,” one person quipped. “Murphy is staying on that naughty list,” another said. “I can’t wait to be a mom,” a third comment read. “I applaud this style of parenting,” a fourth social media user chimed in. “It was a rough year,” the Texas mom replied in the comment section.
It appears that this Texas mother is doing all she can to get her daughters to shape up, and with the help of the elf, she might be able to get Sawyer and Murphy Claire on the nice list after all.
