A Southfield, Michigan jeweller traveling on Southwest Airlines believed he had a strong case when he took to TikTok to call out two flight attendants he felt had treated him like a “stowaway rather [than] a paying customer.” Yes, every passenger deserves to be treated nicely, but those on the Internet are not on his side and think he is blowing things out of proportion with his claims and his suggestion that he might sue.
According to the man’s explanation of what took place, he had simply asked a stewardess for help on how to connect to the plane’s WiFi system, but the woman moved on to another task without addressing his question. The passenger said he then stopped another employee, a male attendant this time, and asked him for help as well, but he claimed that the man had been just as unhelpful. In fact, he said the employee had been “very rude” to him. “I asked him to help me get on the Wi-Fi. He didn’t help me at all, not one bit. And I asked what his name was. He wouldn’t give me his name,” the passenger said.
Even in one portion of the video, the man noticed the male attendant walking through the aisle collecting trash from passengers, so he zoomed in on the employee and said, “Let’s see how he acts when he comes up right now. He may not even stop for me. We’ll see,” indicating that he was fully expecting to be ignored. However, as soon as the attendant reached his row, the passenger immediately started asking for his name again.
He Tried to Get a Reaction
Clearly not interested in getting pulled into an argument, the attendant refused to give it to him and tried to continue down the aisle, but the passenger called his attention to the trash next to his seat. “You see what I’m saying? We still have trash in this aisle. You didn’t ask us for the trash or anything, man,” he said, adding, “This guy is super rude. Super rude.” After the attendant took the trash and walked away, the man acted as though he had recorded something grievous. “You see what I just went through? Y’all see what I just went through?” he asked viewers.
The jeweller then told TikTokkers that he wanted help identifying the male attendant so that people online could “fry his ass,” even referencing a content creator known for exposing individuals on social media. He also blamed the female attendant for “starting it,” saying everything began with her refusal to show him how to get onto the WiFi.
Here’s What Netizens Had to Say About the Southfield Passenger’s Complaints
On TikTok, the video didn’t get the reaction the man was hoping for. Instead of viewers siding with him or taking up his request to expose the employees, many people in the comments disagreed with his interpretation of the events. One person said firmly, “I can guarantee they both did not disregard you or your request,” suggesting that the attendants were simply performing their regular duties. Another viewer wrote, “A lawsuit for not knowing how to connect WiFi. Come on man. Really?” Someone else remarked, “🙄 there’s nothing in this video that shows anyone being rude. Southwest has the best flight attendants, always a great experience flying.”
More commenters echoed the same sentiment. A former flight attendant said, “As a former FA that’s not in our job description😂 file a complaint good day!!” Another viewer agreed, saying, “It’s not their job to be tech support.” A third person added, “There’s instructions on the drink menu in the front of you! why harass the flight attendants about wifi?????”
Overall, many viewers felt the attendants had been treated unfairly and that the passenger’s frustration stemmed more from a misunderstanding of their responsibilities than from any genuine mistreatment.
