One Atlanta mom got a front-row seat to that exact kind of protection when her six-year-old son made it his personal mission to keep her firmly married to his dad after a stranger decided to shoot his shot.
The woman had gone to a Lowe’s store with her son to do some Christmas shopping when the man approached her and asked a simple question: whether she was married. But before she could even respond, her son immediately inserted himself into the grown-up conversation.
Without hesitation, the boy answered with a level of confidence and attitude far bigger than his age. “Yes. Yes, she is,” he said, carefully enunciating each word before adding, “You’re not getting my mama.” After delivering his verdict, he turned and walked off in the opposite direction, leaving the man behind and his mother drowning in laughter.
He Was Committed
As he continued walking, the child, fully committed to the role he had taken on, kept explaining himself as though he were making his case official. “Trying to get my mom? Nah. She is married. She is married, six years. Okay,” he said, pulling his hood up and slipping his hands into his pockets while confidently strutting ahead.
At one point, his mom tried to remind him of his age, still amused and clearly in disbelief as she told him, “AB, you are six years old. Bro. I know how to answer.” But the boy remained completely undeterred, making it clear that, in his mind, he was not about to let anyone try their luck with his mother on his watch.
