On TikTok, a few friends in San Jose are raising concerns about a meal they say they bought from Cajun Bistro that appeared to contain raw beef they believed was inedible. According to a post uploaded by one of them, the friends had ordered a noodle-based dish that included slices of beef from the restaurant. At first, nothing seemed out of the ordinary when they received their order. But after taking a few bites, one of them noticed that the meat felt unusually chewy and difficult to bite through, which caused them to take a closer look at what they were eating.
As shown in the video, one of the friends began pulling the beef apart with their hands, stretching it open to inspect the center. What they found appeared to be meat that was still raw inside, with a purplish color and a soft, uncooked texture that contrasted sharply with the outer surface.
They Complained to the Restaurant
Concerned by what they had discovered, the friends decided to contact Cajun Bistro’s customer service by phone to report the issue. However, the conversation did not go smoothly. They repeatedly tried to explain that the beef appeared raw, but it seemed like the employee they spoke to did not fully understand what they were describing. Unsure whether the issue stemmed from a language barrier or something else, one of them asked if there was another staff member available who might better understand the complaint. The employee responded that he was working alone.
It was only later, according to the caption on the video, that the issue became clearer when they spoke with the employee in person and showed him a photo of the meat. At that point, they say the employee acknowledged the problem and apologized.
They Failed to Get a Refund
When the customers asked if they could receive a refund for their meal, the employee contacted his manager by phone to explain what had happened, but the request was denied. The manager reportedly told them that refunds are only issued if the food being complained about is returned. They also claimed that the manager suggested the beef was fine to eat, a point they strongly disagreed with, saying the meat was not edible at all.
Netizens React to San Jose Cajun Bistro Raw Food Allegation
In the comments, netizens’ opinions were heavily divided. Some dismissed the complaint entirely, arguing that the beef appeared rare rather than raw. “Crying over rare beef lol 😂,” one person wrote. A second commented, “Don’t be slandering cajun bistro like dis its RARE not RAW 😭.” A third added, “Yall never had beef tartare or rare ??,” while a fourth remarked, “As long as they cook the surface the inside doesn’t matter if raw [sic].”
Others were less forgiving and shared their own negative experiences with the restaurant. One commenter offered a mixed review, writing, “I had a good [expletive] meal one time. The second time I got sick.” Another said, “I had a bad [expletive] stomach ache here nd [sic] got sick.” Someone else added, “I can’t lie last time I ate Cajun Bistro I got food poisoning.”
