When drama breaks out between customers and staff, it’s usually the customer who ends up yelling and causing a scene. This time, however, the situation appeared to unfold very differently. A recent incident at a Planet Fitness in Conyers, Georgia has gone viral online after a customer shared a video showing a tense and chaotic confrontation with a staff member.
The customer, an internet user who goes by the name jasssmonay, said she was visiting Planet Fitness in Conyers for a regular workout. According to her account, she had been exercising when her shoes kept slipping off her feet. Frustrated and trying to focus on her workout, she decided to remove them temporarily. That decision quickly caught the attention of staff.
She explained that a Planet Fitness Conyers employee approached her and told her she needed to put her shoes back on, saying management did not allow customers to work out barefoot. The customer complied with the request, but as she did so, she sarcastically responded, “Okay, have a good day.” That comment, she claims, is where things took a turn.
In the video, the staff member appears to react strongly, looking around and asking who the customer was talking to. The customer replied that she was speaking to the employee and told her to get out of her face. At that point, the staff member allegedly threatened to kick her out of the Planet Fitness location. Feeling uncomfortable and caught off guard, jasssmonay began recording the interaction.
She said she was already prepared to leave the Conyers Planet Fitness, but when she noticed a manager nearby, she decided to explain what had just happened. In the video, the staff member can be seen yelling while the customer continues recording. As the situation escalated, the manager stepped in and physically held the employee back, seemingly to prevent the confrontation from turning physical.
The argument continued briefly, with both sides raising their voices, until the manager pulled the staff member away and escorted her into a back room, closing the door behind them. As the customer spoke with the manager, the staff member reportedly burst back into the room and began ranting again. That prompted the manager to remain inside with the employee to de-escalate the situation. The video ends shortly after, leaving viewers without a clear resolution.
Online reaction to the Planet Fitness Conyers incident has been mixed. Many viewers felt the staff member overreacted and should never have screamed at a customer in a professional setting. One commenter summed it up by saying, “Planet Fitness be wildin’ these days.”
Others, however, were more skeptical. Some questioned whether there was more to the story, arguing that employees usually don’t react that strongly without reason. Several people suggested the customer’s tone may have played a role, while others countered that dealing calmly with difficult or sarcastic customers is simply part of working with the public.
