While negative publicity is still publicity, a celebrity and a pizza restaurant in New York both didn’t want any of it and are now locked in a battle trying to disprove each other’s claims. Apparently, the dispute occurred when the reality TV star, Tokyo_vanity, found the pizza shop’s staff too rude, but as a response, the business released footage of the incident, contradicting Tokyo’s allegations and adding fuel to the fire.
It all began when Tokyo_vanity, aka Shantel Allen, went to Cuts & Slices in Manhattan, New York City, on December 16, at around 7:26 PM, possibly craving some pizza. Sadly, it was 34 minutes away from Cuts & Slices’ closing time, and Allen claimed that “the food in the window looks stale,” and “the [expletive] got a attitude,” alluding to how the staff was allegedly rude to her.
Allen quickly uploaded her rant to her official Instagram account. However, a few hours later, Cuts & Slices defended itself and its staff by uploading the actual security footage of the moment Allen walked in to several minutes after she walked out. In Cuts & Slices’ defense, “You [Allen] clearly said (ACTUALLY I DONT WANNA PAY FOR THAT YALL ) PULLED OUT YOUR PHONE & TRIED TO PAINT A FALSE NARRATIVE FOR CONTENT.”
The pizza business added that, “Our cashier was super kind & respectful, explaining she thought you were picking up your order. She went above, offering great service despite our shortage, and even tried to give you a free slice for first-timers.” However, Cuts & Slices’ response has further triggered Allen, and she also uploaded a follow-up rant, as though it were a diss track battle. Needless to say, Allen was angry about the way Cuts & Slices defended itself and even started cussing the staff.
Some People Online Were Criticizing the Celebrity
Even on her follow-up rant, many people were torn on who to side with. A lot have defended Cuts & Slices, “Tokyo you were greeted with a hello. She wasn’t rude to you. It was your attitude. That’s my opinion. 🤷🏾♀️,” though some of Allen’s friends who were with her at the time claims, “If you can see the camera angle that shows the woman’s face, you will understand. Soon as we opened the door she hollered “are you here for a pickup order?!” In a frustrating manner that caught us all off guard.”
So far, Cuts & Slices hasn’t responded to Allen’s follow-up angry rant, and they also disabled the comments on their Instagram page. Allen or Tokyo, meanwhile, was adamant that “The lizard at the counter has the worst customer service there is. Whoever was at the back, only started trying to rectify once I started recording.”
It’s not clear how long this debate between the two will drag on, but some people online believe that it really shouldn’t have exploded into a drama this big, “Lmaoo this is the calmest “non hospitality” encounter Ive seen. She literally said “Hello are you here for pick up ? “ … she barely spoke… No argument happend .. nobody even said a curse word 😂🤦🏾♀️ apologies need to be given and everyone move on it seems like a real misunderstanding.”
