Some people just want to watch the world burn, while others end up burning themselves from their own stupidity. Such can be said of a man in Waco, Texas, who was arrested after setting himself on fire. Fortunately for him, only his hands needed to be treated, but a much more substantial therapy will be needed to treat his real problem: his crazed racism. The reason behind his self-immolation was that he was threatening to set a woman’s house on fire while screaming racial slurs at her.

The wild Texan approached the woman’s home and poured a tank of gasoline on the side of the house and the roadway before lighting it, setting himself on fire in the process. The woman and her friends came out with water buckets to put out the fire; fortunately, no one was reportedly injured besides the arsonist. According to KWTX, the police found him hiding under his bed in his trailer home after fleeing the scene. After he was medically treated, he went straight to jail where he belonged.

“The victims in this situation, the people he was yelling racist slurs at and threatening, saved his life,” remarked a Redditor, pointing out how the victims of the story likely poured water on the racist. “And then this scumbag ran and hid under his bed like a child.” Another chimed in jokingly, “Self-burn, those are rare.”

Several comments guessed that this Texas man was probably a Trump supporter, based on his racist tendencies. “It’s a good thing when arsonists burn themselves,” says one individual. “I’d prefer they not burn things down, but I’ll take the silver lining.” Another added how dangerous ignited gasoline can be; simply put, the culprit is lucky to be alive after the incident.

In the end, the man’s punishment was twofold, with burns on his hands and a stay in jail. Hopefully, his time detained will let him rethink his racist ways.
