The topic of abortion has always been one of the most sensitive and emotionally charged issues in the country. In places like Columbus and across Ohio, it’s something many people believe should be discussed thoughtfully and, more importantly, by adults. Regardless of where someone stands on abortion, most would agree that shocking teenagers with graphic images is crossing a line. Yet that is exactly what one Columbus family says happened outside Columbus Alternative High School.
A Reddit user who goes by the name EyeKitchen9763 shared a detailed account of what they described as a disturbing encounter involving abortion imagery. According to their post, a man named Seth Drayer showed up near Columbus Alternative High School holding large, graphic pictures of aborted fetuses. The timing made it worse. Students were leaving school for the day when they suddenly came face to face with the images. There was no warning, no heads-up, and no chance to avoid it unless they literally closed their eyes and hurried past.
The incident quickly caught attention online, especially among Columbus residents. The man was identified as being affiliated with createdequal.org, an anti-abortion organization. According to EyeKitchen9763, Drayer also had a camera with him during the encounter, which raised immediate red flags about the intent behind the protest. The Redditor claimed the goal wasn’t to have a respectful discussion about abortion, but to provoke reactions, record them, and post the footage online.
The post described the entire setup as rage bait, aimed at getting emotional responses from people who had no choice but to walk past. In this case, that included teenagers. The Redditor emphasized that these kids were not warned about the abortion imagery in advance. They simply exited their school in Columbus and were confronted with disturbing images right near the parking lot.
What made the situation even more frustrating, according to the post, was the apparent hypocrisy. Groups like this often argue for more parental choice and involvement in schools. Yet here they were outside a Columbus school forcing graphic abortion imagery on students without any parental consent. EyeKitchen9763 said they contacted the school to ask what could be done, only to be told that administrators’ hands were tied. Because the protesters were standing on a public sidewalk connected to the parking lot, the school said there was nothing they could legally do.
The Reddit post sparked strong reactions from others who saw the video or read the account. Several commenters expressed anger that abortion activism was being directed at kids. One user wrote, “Another conservative groomer. Leave the kids alone, weirdo.” Another commenter claimed they were familiar with the group through a local church and criticized what they described as twisted theology, saying the group had previously encouraged children as young as ten to participate in abortion protests. According to that commenter, members were allegedly promised safety while being pushed into highly political and emotionally charged situations.
