A woman in Nashville, Tennessee, got what she has called the strangest Christmas present she has ever received. Apparently, her husband thought that getting her a megaphone, of all things, was a good idea. It was, and the entire neighborhood knows.
The clip was shared to TikTok by Sophie Brissman, a mother-of-five lifestyle influencer. She is seen talking with her husband, Gideon, who brought a box for her, containing her gift. Sophie, however, kept it inside the box, not opening it up until her husband insisted.
With a drum roll sound, Sophie eventually pulls out the megaphone wrapped in bubble wrap from the box. Her initial reaction was one of disbelief, not knowing what to think of her brand-new megaphone. Sophie even looks at Gideon, wondering what went through his head to buy such an unorthodox present.
“I asked for PJs from Target, and you give me a megaphone?” Sophie asked. Gideon, however, said, “I got you everything you asked for.”
When questioned about the purpose of the loud item, the Tennessee man explained that it was meant for Sophie to use to “scream at the kids.” Seeing her reaction, Gideon thought she hated the megaphone. She explained, “No, I just wasn’t expecting to get a megaphone.”
While she didn’t expect a megaphone, it appeared as if she had actually asked Santa Claus for it. She began using it liberally, dancing with it, and she even said, “Prepared to be sick of me. I’m megaphone mom now.”

Her first victim, other than the people watching the video on their phones with extra sensitivity to high-pitched noises, was her own daughter. Armed with the megaphone, Sophie called her name, causing her to burst into laughter.
Sophie’s next megaphone targets were her neighbors, as she is seen on her porch screaming with the blowhorn, probably waking everyone up and their ancestors.
Users found the Tennessee woman’s video hilarious, and some even yearned for a megaphone themselves.
“It’s for morning announcements,” one user commented. Another one wrote, “He knew exactly what he was doing, giving you one.” A third one added, “We should bring that on the family trips.”
Sophie might not know it, but perhaps many are adding megaphones to their Christmas gift lists while she uses hers. Some, maybe, are adding earplugs.
