One of my biggest fears has always been to be followed home without realizing it and being approached by a total stranger. The very thought of it sparks overwhelming fear. Unfortunately, this fear became reality for a California woman who shared on TikTok the alarming moment a suspicious man tried blocking her with his car and allegedly pounded on her windows in a fit of road rage. If anything, it’s a grave reminder to always be aware of your surroundings.

Posted to the TikTok account @meleennaa, this video only briefly shows what happened, with the majority being told as a ‘story time.’ The original poster, Mimi, talks about how a man had followed her after a short stint of road rage. She decided to drive toward a police station so that she could speak directly to an officer about the situation. However, that didn’t work in her favor because the parking lot was under construction.

Apparently, the man following her decided to take it upon himself to try blocking her in to confront her. After stepping out of his vehicle and flashing an unknown form of identification at Mimi, she realized the potential danger she could be in and immediately escaped via a small opening wide enough for her car.

Just as she was driving away, the man apparently slammed down on her window in another fit of road rage. Out of fear, Mimi then drove in different directions for half an hour just to make sure that he was no longer following her.

The replies immediately filled up with people who also acknowledged how scary the situation was. Realistically, you never know what other people’s intentions are until it’s too late. Many comments were offering advice, with a top reply saying, “File a police report. There are too many stories of law enforcement impersonators.”

Other comments, meanwhile, were a little more comical, focusing on the weird form of identification the man flashed, with comments along the lines of, “Why did he flash his Costco card at you,” and “Now why would he flash a CAC card like that😭💀.”

Fortunately, Mimi was able to escape safely, and from the looks of it, was able to safely get home without the man following her. However, it’s still terrifying to think of what could have been, and I’m glad that she stuck with her gut and fled.
