Time and time again, mothers on TikTok show us that they don’t mess around when it comes to their kids. When you know your child is being mistreated by an adult, you’re bound to have some words for them. One woman took things to the next level when she discovered that her daughter was being harassed by her bus driver. This Louisiana mother decided that she was going to give that bus driver a Christmas present. However, it was one she wouldn’t forget.
TikToker @softlifemama007 found out that her 10-year-old daughter’s bus driver wasn’t treating her well. She explains that she found out the bus driver grabbed her daughter by the wrist one day. As a result, she decided to confront her – complete with a Christmas gift. This mama walks to the bus with a Christmas present baggie in hand. She hands the bus driver the bag and says, “Merry Christmas.”
Before saying anything else, the bus driver exclaimed, “I wish I could tell you my side!” This sets off the mom even further, who tells her to open the Christmas present “now, please.” The bus driver looks inside and quickly puts the bag back on the floor of the bus. Why? The mother of that child handed her a bag complete with a “smashed up, stomped on candy cane.” Now you can say this is immature… but what would you do if it was your child somebody assaulted in that manner? You might do something similar.
After giving the bus driver the gift, she says, “Merry Christmas” and then retreats. Commenters were mixed on how to feel about the entire interaction and whether or not she handled it correctly. Some commenters accused her of handling things improperly, while one commenter said, “My child wouldn’t ride that” after being treated badly by the bus driver. As this TikToker pointed out in her reply, “I’m glad you have the option to get your child to school by alternate means. You are very lucky.”
Unfortunately, there are many horror stories about teachers, bus drivers, counselors, and other parties taking things too far with kids. Sometimes, this ends in physical altercations and it’s a shame that it happens in a setting where we want to trust that our child is well cared for. This mother did what she thought was best to make a point. Hopefully, it doesn’t escalate any further for her child because no child should ever be mistreated.
