Hytale has opened its doors to all players, and while many just want to jump into some vanilla gameplay, a few others want to start modding as soon as possible. Believe it or not, Hytale already has several mods during its early access period, which is pretty new for games of this genre. If you’re one of those who want to start modding but are unsure of where to start, here are the best mods for Hytale that are easy to install and will improve your gameplay experience in no time.

1. Advanced Item Info – Best UI Mod for Hytale

Let’s start with a must-have for every world or private server: Advanced Item Info. This mod gives you a new UI that shows the details of every item in the game. You can search for whatever you want, and it will give you information, such as its max stack number or when you can craft it. This mod is extremely helpful for those running a server, but also for those who want a bit of help during exploration mode.

2. Lucky Mining – Best Mining Mod for Hytale

Out of all the mods you can get right now, Lucky Mining is yet another one that we consider essential, and while it may feel like an “easy-mode” mod, it isn’t. Lucky Mining adds an interesting feature where mining has a chance of respawning the ore you just mined. The chances of that ore respawning increase the more you mine, but if you stop working, then the chances go away. It is a fun mod that rewards you for working hard and makes gathering resources much easier.

3. Horse & Livestock Skins

We’re shifting now to a more cosmetic-oriented mod, or rather, mods. Author BlackAuresArt has created two mods that add some new colors to your horses and livestock. Instead of only having one skin color for your horses, you’ll have plenty more, and the same applies to your chickens and other animals. It isn’t the most gameplay-altering mod, but one that makes the world feel more alive and unique.

  • Aures – Livestock Skins

4. Hy Furniture Series – Best Furniture Mods for Hytale

Instead of putting four different entries, we’ll put all of the Macaw’s mods into one. User sketch_macaw has crafted several furniture mods ranging from new light sources to windows that open and even stairs with a railing. If you want to beautify your base, these are the only mods you’ll need, at least for now.

5. Ymmersive Path Series

Just like the ones above, we’ve decided to place these in one entry as they could also be considered part of a series. Mod author Conczin has created the Ymmersive mods, which aim to create new path patterns, better foliage, and even music for the game. As the name implies, they are immersive and fit with the game’s aesthetic perfectly, so if you want Hytale to still feel like Hytale, consider adding all these mods.

6. Disabled Durability

While we understand item durability is a key aspect of many survival games, the truth is that it can be an annoying feature for many, which is why mod author Seriulium has created this mod. As you can imagine, the Disabled Durability mod removes the durability aspect of all items, including tools, weapons, and armor. It might feel like cheating a bit, but hey, it’s your world, we don’t judge.

7. Gone Fishing – Best Fishing Mod in Hytale

We know that fishing will eventually come to Hytale, but in the meantime, a mod is the one bringing the feature to the game. Gone Fishing lets players throw a bobber at the water and catch fish that are currently in the game. It doesn’t have a minigame when catching fish or anything, but it is one way to experience this activity that many of us like in our games.

8. Where This At? – Best Inventory Mod in Hytale

One of the most tiring things in any survival game is sorting an inventory. You may find a way to label all chests or create rooms for every type of item. However, going through every container is still a hassle. Well, that won’t be the case anymore. The mod aptly called “Where This At?” gives you a new UI when searching containers and lets you pull items from all nearby chests into your inventory. It is one of the greatest mods ever made for Hytale and one that you should install as soon as you fire up the game.

9. Miner’s Helmet

We all know that carrying a torch around in a survival-crafting game is as mandatory as eating. However, there is one mod that makes navigating underground much easier: the Miner’s Helmet mod. With this mod, you can craft a helmet with a light in it that illuminates everything around you. There are even different colors for the lights for those who want to have a unique helmet.

10. Item Magnet

Last but not least, and to wrap up our list of mod recommendations for Hytale, we have Item Magnet. If you’re one of those players who keep mining ores or cutting trees but always forget to pick up the materials, Item Magnet will make your life easier. This mod will pull materials toward the player, making gathering much easier. You can craft the item at your workbench, equip it, and let every item come your way. Handy!
