A car dealership in Farmers Branch, Texas, has recently faced backlash from netizens after a woman shared a TikTok video accusing the business of responding to her negative review by posting her arrest record online. The company has since replaced it with an apology following the video, but it has not stopped critics from flooding their reviews with negative comments.

EDIT: I am working on a resolution with the business, please do not leave anymore negative reviews. I do not condone death threats and harmful comments. Thank you!

The woman said she had left a one-star review for the dealership after she noticed issues with a vehicle she and her husband had purchased from them. She explained that the car, a 2018 Acura MDX, initially seemed fine, but less than a year later, all the lights on the dashboard started coming on at once. The couple took the vehicle in to be checked, and that was when they were told the car had a history of problems that had never been disclosed to them at the time of sale.

“Instead of getting the car fixed, [they] decided to turn all of the codes off, sell the car to me, and tell me there’s nothing wrong with the car,” the woman said in the video. “So yes, I left a bad review, a one star review. And if I could leave zero, I would have left zero.”

She said that after she left the review to caution others “against purchasing a used car from this dealership,” the business responded by posting details of her arrest in reply to her review. She shared an alleged screenshot of the response as proof.

The Arrest Record She Says Was Shared

According to the woman, the record stemmed from a deeply personal situation involving her infant daughter, who had initially been misdiagnosed with child abuse before doctors later confirmed she was suffering from neonatal rickets due to low vitamin D levels.

“My daughter and I spent 129 days apart while I fought tooth and nail alongside my family trying to get her back. We got lawyers, medical experts, and she was returned home March 26, 2025. I was arrested in November of 2024, and I was in jail for 15 hours due to the same incident. However… my charges was dropped,” she said.

Following the backlash that came after the woman shared the post, the dealership issued an apology. They wrote, “We sincerely apologize for the error in posting your record online. This should not have happened. While the mistake was made by an individual, we take full responsibility as a company.” The woman said she was later contacted by the owner’s son, who told her the employee responsible had been fired and that the company does not condone that kind of behavior.

However, she said the resolution offered to her did not go far enough and that she and her family are now “in communication with lawyers.”

What Netizens Are Saying About the Texas Dealership’s Actions

Netizens have remained critical of the business, both in the woman’s comment section and on the company’s Google reviews, with many calling their actions inappropriate. “Absolutely not. That’s weird behavior,” one person wrote. Another said, “What does CAR BUSINESS have to do with your arrest, regardless of what it was for.” A third remarked, “How inappropriate and unprofessional,” while someone else added, “That dealership is definitely wrong!!! who does that?”

Others encouraged her to take further action, with comments like, “I would definitely pursue filing a claim with your attorney general,” and “Take them to court. They had no business posting about your arrest record.”

Despite the overwhelming support she was receiving, the Texas woman also urged people not to take things too far. She asked people not to send threats or leave fake reviews on the business page, saying she does not want to be associated with that type of negativity.
