A popular UK influencer rushed to a Texas hospital after she found that her stools were bloody. Freaked out, she thought the worst, and doctors had to do some testing and invasive exams. However, a very important realization suddenly struck her: she had eaten beets.
The influencer in question is KT Franklin. She has over 3.1 million followers on TikTok, and her content revolves around comedy, gym workouts, and overall lifestyle anecdotes. The beet-related clip, however, gained significant traction, garnering 2.7 million views, 315,500 likes, and 1,300 comments in just two days.
From the get-go, KT was fully aware that what she was about to share on her clip was not something she was particularly proud of. She said, “Guys, I’m so embarrassed. This is the most embarrassing thing,” only to then share she got a rectal exam “for no reason.”
The influencer explained that, while in Texas, she woke up in the morning with what appeared to be bloody stools. There was so much blood, she said, that she believed she was going to “bleed out.”
“I was actually really scared,” KT said.
Fearing something serious was going on, KT arrived at St. David’s Emergency Center in Austin, Texas. There, after describing what was happening and even sharing pictures, she was told that she needed a rectal exam.
However, things changed when they tested KT’s stool. There was no blood whatsoever. Shocked, KT said that you could actually see the blood and didn’t believe the tests were accurate.
Then the doctor asked, “Have you been eating beets?” KT immediately remembered she had had a beet salad the day before. Embarassed, she realized the truth, saying, “The beetroot dyed my poo red.”
Internet Reacts To Beet Story
KT’s story at the Texas hospital sparked multiple responses.
Some users straight-up laughed at the situation, with one viewer commenting, “As an ER nurse, I am screaming.” Another viewer quipped, “Don’t beet yourself up!“
Other users believed KT did the right thing by going to the hospital. One commenter wrote, “As someone who just survived colon cancer that was found exactly this way, you 100% did the right thing.” Finally, a viewer explained, “Yeah, with beetroot, some people can’t digest the color.”
Of course, the fact that KT has a huge number of followers contributed to the clip’s success. Its hilarious nature and the way the story was told, however, helped it blow up in comparison to her other TikToks.
In the end, KT was charged $250 for her beet mix-up.
