A Brooklyn, New York, woman posted a video that’s since gained popularity of an argument she had with a dog owner while at the park, resulting in the other owner allegedly brandishing a knife.

The viral video has been gaining traction on TikTok, where people have taken to discussing the situation in the comments. Some comments also go over the dangers of leaving your dog unleashed when in a public place.

The video above features a woman and her muzzled and leashed dog while on an outing at a park. However, shortly after the video starts, two unleashed dogs can be seen approaching the woman’s dog, to which her dog lunges to attack. Fortunately, nothing happened since her dog is muzzled.

After confronting the owner of the dogs, the two got into an argument that resulted in the other owner allegedly brandishing a knife, saying, “Look what I got for him,” referring to the woman’s dog.

In most public places, dogs are required to be on a leash to prevent unexpected accidents from occurring, such as biting or scratching incidents. In this video, the unleashed dogs can be seen walking beside a group of toddlers. At this, one commenter said, “Thankful those children didn’t get attacked!” while another wrote, “A loose dog around a bunch of small kids is also what scared me 😭.”

Reactions Towards New York Man Allegedly Brandishing Knife At Woman’s Dog

Users quickly jumped into the comments to relay their opinions, with many offering legal advice. One person wrote, “Him pulling a knife is a criminal threat, aggravated assault, or brandishing a weapon. All of which are illegal those cops were not doing their job. I would go to the police station with this video and tell them you want to press charges. Absolutely not okay.”

One of the biggest reasons for the video’s virality is that, at the very end, the man can be seen quickly leaving the area. At one point, the man can be heard aggressively calling for his dogs. In that moment, the text on the video read, “huring to call his dogs bc he knows he’s wrong.”

According to a follow-up video posted by the same woman, she spoke with a detective who advised her, “to call 911 if I see the guy, I see the guy a lot, I see him like twice a day. He said, if I see the guy again I need to call 911 so they can come arrest him.”

She does disclose her fears about doing this, claiming that she is afraid that in doing so, the man will become angry and try to come for her and her dog.

As the video continues to go viral, it is unclear if the woman featured called 911 the next time she saw the man who reportedly brandished the knife. It is also unclear if there is anything more being done at an investigative level
