Road rage is a growing concern in North Carolina, which ranks among the most confrontational states for drivers, with incidents and aggressive encounters rising in recent years. That reality was highlighted in a recent road rage incident when a BMW driver waiting at a red light filmed a woman flipping him off and hurling insults. The man caught the altercation on camera, and the clip has sparked debate online, with some viewers labeling the woman a “Karen.”

The video comes from North Carolina resident B58Khris, who typically creates BMW-focused car content for his small TikTok channel. While his videos usually get thousands of views, his latest clip has gone viral with over 2.8 million views, 297,000 likes, 381 comments, and 13,600 shares. The footage is accompanied by the caption, “one of my first encounters with a Karen,” and opens with the BMW driver nonchalantly sitting at a red light while eating what appears to be a protein bar.

Suddenly, a woman yells from the car next to him, “Your car sucks!” and even winds down her window to rudely flip him off. Initially, it’s unclear what sparked the aggression, but as the video plays out, it becomes crystal clear. The video then cuts to moments before the confrontation, showing the young driver waiting at a red light. As he waits, he playfully revs his engine, and a few other cars at the light follow suit.

Another driver is even seen giving him a thumbs-up in solidarity. However, this is when the woman begins hurling insults, seemingly unimpressed by the engine revving. The BMW driver can be seen chuckling to himself and giving the woman a friendly wave, as the footage comes to a close.

Online Reactions Flood In as North Carolina Road Rage Clip Goes Viral

The video has sparked a multitude of reactions online, with many viewers weighing in on the confrontation. On TikTok, some users wondered whether the exchange stemmed from envy, with one person writing, “Ppl be hating when you’re young with a nice car” and another adding, “i’ll never understand people hating on others winning“. A third agreed and chimed in with, “Envy….keeps shining baby!!!“

Elsewhere, some leaned more tin favor with the “Karen,” with one netizen penning, “Ngl that would annoy me too” and another declaring, “I get so embarrassed making noise with my car. Idk why but I cringe at myself.” A third person penned, “Just because a car is loud, doesnt mean its a nice car lol [sic]” Finally, some other commenters simply praised the BMW driver for his cool attitude towards the insults, with one expressing, “Love how unbothered u are” and another adding, “type of unbothered i wanna be“.

The video continues to make the rounds online, with people still debating what they saw and who was in the right. It’s just another one of those clips that gets people talking about how quickly things can escalate on the road, even in everyday situations like sitting at a red light.
