New York Republicans have been voicing criticism following Governor Kathy Hochul’s announcement that the state will investigate suspicious stock trades and insider trading following last week’s Maduro arrests. Hochul asserts that, as New York’s new shift aligns with Mamdani and Wall Street, they will do what Trump and the Federal GOP won’t and put a stop to the illegal practice.
Republicans have largely dismissed the investigation as a “political stunt” designed to distract from local issues and to gin up interest ahead of the re-election campaign later this year. While she had some liberal support in the post she created on X, the vast majority of feedback came from the New York GOP and conservative voices, and they are clearly fed up with her socialist, liberal policies, and they weren’t afraid to let their thoughts be heard.
“Your entire party is corrupted”
“Talk to your pal GovSherrillNJ about insider trading! Also Josh4Jersey! Two insider traders who became multimillionaires while in Congress!”
“Would be nice if you did things like this when then election wasn’t around the corner. It’s all false promises but when they get into power it’ll be the same…”
“She needs booted with her NYC mayor. At one time New York and California were the best 2 states to live in then… Democrats got hold of them and has almost completely ruined them! Make them great again!”
New York Governor Hochul is having a tough time on all fronts. Liberals are occupying her office, rallying against her policies, while local Republicans and the GOP have overall anger towards her reign and how much she clashes with Trump. As she aims to get re-elected for a second full term, her rocky position leaves her vulnerable, and political opponents will try to take advantage of any opening they can find.
