A man in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, shared that he routinely Googles his father’s name every year. While he has no relationship with him, since they are no-contact, he was surprised to learn that, in his recent search, his father was accused of trying to kill him when he was only a 2-year-old boy.

Cody Jacob, a TikToker with half a million followers, shared the story online. He discusses many topics in his clips, some of which are related to his troubled family life. The clip in question, however, stood out due to its virality. It garnered 1.8 million views, 357,000 likes, and more than 2,600 comments in just a few days.

The Massachusetts man detailed how he Googles his father’s name every year. According to him, he does a yearly search of his obituary. He believes his father is still alive, but admitted that he will most likely never find out, as he has gone no-contact with him.

After this 15-year search, Cody eventually came across an arrest record from 1998. He said, “He’s been living a little bit of a life.” His calm demeanor then changed as he revealed that his father was arrested for attempted homicide. But it didn’t end there.

“This arrest is for the attempted homicide of me?” he said, loudly. “Okay… I had a life to live.”

A Troubled Family Life

Of course, the video was flooded with questions. In a follow-up clip, the Massachusetts man explained that he was only two years old at the time of the alleged attempted homicide. After sarcastically calling his father a “loser” as he couldn’t “kill a two-year-old,” Cody raised multiple allegations.

He accused his father of trying to kill his mother when she was pregnant with him. Despite this, Cody said, he retained custody of him until he was an 8-year-old boy. He, however, eventually escaped and went to live with his mother. Unfortunately, due to the alleged instances of domestic violence, she had her pancreas removed. The woman then died of brittle diabetes.

“So if you ask me, my dad killed my mom,” Cody said. “But he didn’t kill me. He tried, [expletive], twice, but didn’t do it.”

Reactions

Both videos sparked multiple responses online.

Some viewers were shocked to the core by Cody’s revelations. One said, “At the beginning of this, I was curious about how you went no contact. I am no longer curious.” Another one shared a similar story, saying, “I Googled myself once, and found my dad’s obituary. That’s how I found out he died.”

Others tried to approach the topic in a more light-hearted manner. One viewer wrote, “He tried to go no contact first.” Another one added, “You can never predict your next scroll.”

It appears Cody will not be sharing any details about his father’s alleged crime, as he has no recollection of it, having been only two years old at the time.
