🚨 LMAO!! FBI Director Kash Patel is INFURIATING Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D)

HOLLEN: Do you know it's a CRIME to lie to Congress?!

PATEL: The only one who lied to Congress is YOU. Maybe the next time you run up a $7,000 bar tab we can talk about it. It's in the FEC report. I'll… pic.twitter.com/s8G6CsfE4B

In the video from the Senate Appropriations subcommittee hearing broadcast on C-SPAN, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) asks FBI Director Kash Patel whether he understands that it is a crime to lie to Congress. Patel responds that Van Hollen is the one who lied to Congress and references a $7,000 bar tab from Federal Election Commission filings. Patel gestures toward posting the document as Van Hollen interjects that it was not public money, to which Patel replies, “OH, so it WAS a $7,000 bar tab!”

The exchange occurred during questioning in which Van Hollen raised media reports alleging excessive drinking by Patel. Patel has denied those allegations. According to Van Hollen’s office, the expense was a campaign-funded catering charge for a holiday reception for over 50 staff members, not taxpayer dollars.
