New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker has come under fire after he called Donald Trump “the most corrupt president in the history of America” and accused him of using his office to enrich himself and his family. Booker made the remarks during his recent interview on MSNBC’s The Weekend. He claimed Trump’s financial pursuits and policy decisions have created conflicts that cast doubt on whether he is acting in the public’s interest.

This is the most corrupt President in the history of our country.

But let me be clear: every branch of our government now has corruption that is cancerous and eating away at our democracy.

Booker pointed to NVIDIA, a trillion-dollar U.S. tech company, as a prime example. “NVIDIA chips that China so desperately wanted, as well as other allies. [Trump] is investing millions of dollars in NVIDIA and making decisions that drive that stock price up,” he stated. Booker argued this was an “absolute[ly] clear, unequivocal” pattern that shows Trump is “selling out our country for profit.”

“I’m sorry for anybody that does not clearly see Donald Trump is thoroughly drenched in corruption,” Booker added. “That he does not care about us, that he cares about his own wealth and the advancement of his family’s riches. This is clear.”

The senator also said the problem is not limited to the White House and claimed corruption has spread across all branches of government. Booker criticized Congress over stock trading among lawmakers and accused the Supreme Court of operating under weak ethics standards. He said both parties needed to change, warning that corruption would continue “metastasizing” like cancer throughout the government.

Public Reaction to the New Jersey Senator’s Remarks

On X, many people appeared to dismiss Booker’s comments and instead accused him and fellow Democrats of hypocrisy. “I love it when corrupt democrats say ‘let me be clear.’ Translation…..‘I’m lying but you must believe me’!” one person wrote.

Someone else said, “You absolute fraud. I saw you sit there with all your Democrat friends for four straight years while Biden was clearly unfit, drooling and wandering off stage, and you said nothing.” A third commented, “It is the democrats projecting what they are doing onto Trump. It’s disgraceful.” A fourth added, “Your Party is finished. It’s wonderful to know, every day you are awake, Trump is living rent free in your head.”

Critics also questioned Booker’s own political record, with one writing, “What do you really do? All you do is talk but nothing ever gets done — you have been in DC for 12 years and not much to show for it — time for a change.” Another remarked, “We must demand changing YOU out for a sensible person.”

Booker, who has served in the Senate for more than a decade, has long been a vocal critic of Trump and has opposed several of the president’s policies.
