New York congressional candidate George Conway released a campaign ad vowing to impeach President Donald Trump and send him to prison, prompting a sharp response from the White House.
Conway, an attorney and longtime Trump critic, entered the New York race in January to succeed retiring Representative Jerry Nadler. His latest video opened with a direct message to Trump, referencing the $88 million defamation judgments awarded to writer E. Jean Carroll. “Hi, Donald, it’s me, George Conway. I cost you 88 million [expletive] dollars, and I’ve only just gotten started,” he said.
The ad escalated with Conway warning that Trump’s name would be left only on “the orange jumpsuit you’re going to have to wear in prison.” Pointing to the U.S. Capitol, he added, “That’s where we’re going to hold your third and final impeachment trial. The one that’s going to put you away for good.”
The White House responded in a statement provided to Fox News Digital, calling Conway “a stupid person’s idea of a smart person” and accusing him of suffering from “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The statement said opposition to Trump had “melted his brain” and made him “crazy in the head.”
Conway also tied his message to economic concerns, citing gasoline prices and arguing that the country’s problems could not be fixed until Trump was impeached and convicted.

Supporters and skeptics offered sharply different views on Conway’s confrontational message and his candidacy.
One user wrote, “I like the attack dog approach because there is no gray area and you have to know this eats Donald Trump alive inside.” Another added, “Straight to the point! Love it.”
Others viewed the ad as the kind of message Democrats have been missing. One person said, “This is the energy the left needs. Straight to the point. Correction for past errors,” while another wrote, “About time someone says out loud what most Americans think.”
Not everyone embraced the message. One user questioned Conway’s broader appeal, writing, “I don’t know if I like or trust George Conway, except maybe for this direct purpose, the 3rd Impeachment of Trump, but he has a very weak stance on Israel and that’s usually a non-starter.”
Another expressed doubts about Conway’s political identity, saying, “This guy is a ‘never Trump’ Republican. Hey, I hate Trump too, so that’s cool. But I don’t believe this guy is a Democrat. He’s just been publicly anti-Trump for a long time. I would vote for him if he was against a Republican, but that’s about it.”
Questions over whether Conway’s confrontational message will resonate with Democratic primary voters remain ahead of New York’s June 23 primary.
