GTA 6 Will Have In-Game Doomscrolling Feed That Unlocks Secret Missions, Leaked Details Reveal

If you thought you could escape the algorithm by playing video games, Grand Theft Auto 6 is ready to prove you wrong. Leaked product details from a retail listing have revealed that GTA 6 will feature an ‘integrated’ in-game TikTok-like social media feed. This feature won’t just be a window dressing, though. Apparently, doomscrolling through Vice City’s top influencers‘ posts will let Jason and Lucia uncover secret side missions buried in their feed.

The leaked description first surfaced on Amazon Brazil and was later used by Brazilian retailer Kabum. According to the page, translated via Google Translate, GTA 6‘s map is shaping up to be the biggest Rockstar has ever built. From neon-soaked streets all the way through swamps, beaches, and small towns scattered across the state of Leonida.

Players will be able to switch between Jason and Lucia in real time during free-roaming or missions, which sounds like a much better version of GTA 5‘s character-swapping. NPCs will also run on ‘advanced AI-driven’ routines and generate random events throughout your playthrough. But the headlining feature is, of course, the in-game TikTok, which is touted to be a ‘major innovation’:

INTEGRATED SOCIAL NETWORKS: Watch viral videos, follow influencers, and discover world events through your in-game mobile phone.
[…] The major innovation lies in the in-game integration of social networks: your character’s cell phone consumes viral videos in real time, allowing you to follow Vice City influencers and discover secret side missions through social media.

Turns out, in a fictional crime sandbox where you can do anything, you’ll still end up staring at your phone. Clearly, even when you’re not touching Roblox, brainrot is forever. Still, what’s interesting is that this feature wasn’t exactly a secret. The in-game spoof of TikTok, X, or Instagram was already shown in GTA 6‘s first trailer, highlighting the relatable everyday chaos of Vice City.

The leaked description also mentioned that GTA 6 has been ‘built natively’ for PS5 and PS5 Pro. This version is touted to include improved performance, ‘more stable’ framerate on Pro hardware, as well as even ‘sharper resolutions.’ Perhaps these upgrades are going to be delivered by the PS5’s exclusive PSSR upscaling feature. This lines up with Sony’s boast over on its official site, saying that the game ‘plays best’ on PlayStation.

GTA 6 launches November 19, with preorders open for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Purchase the game before November 20, and you’ll snag the Vintage Vice City Pack. But maybe think twice before clicking on that $100 Ultimate Edition — the industry will thank you.
