A Maryland homeowner has accused an Amazon Flex delivery driver of taking her package just moments after dropping it off. She shared Blink security footage that appears to show the worker leaving the item outside her front door before picking it back up and walking away.
The footage was first posted on TikTok and has since spread to other platforms, including X.
According to the homeowner, the incident happened at around 5:20 a.m. In the video, the driver walked to her front door carrying a single package. After placing the item on the floor, he appeared to notice the camera facing his direction before quickly turning to look at the door and then his phone.
It is unclear whether he was trying to take the required photo to confirm delivery, but he bent down again and, moments later, picked up the package and walked off with it.
Viewers Split Over What They Believe Happened
Although the homeowner has maintained that the package was stolen, netizens were divided over what they believed had happened. Some viewers believed the footage truly did show the driver making away with the woman’s package.
“He just lost his job for a package he doesn’t even know the contents of,” one person wrote. Another asked, “Why do people even do this? It’s most likely just some cheap garbage that has no use or value to sell. Like you’re going to jail over a [expletive] kitchen spoon.”
A third commented, “Nearly everything in this world has a camera attached to it, what made him think he was getting away with this.” A fourth added, “The fact that he peeped the camera is crazy so that tells you he don’t give a [expletive] about what he did.”
Others, however, believed the driver may have simply made a mistake during the delivery.
“Was this a case of him just being at the wrong apartments. I’m a driver and been for 2 years. Still happens to me,” one comment read. Another shared, “I’ve done this, had to scan 2 packages in for one complex and got them mixed up!”
As of this writing, the homeowner says the package has still not been recovered hours after the incident. She also tagged Amazon in her post, calling the company’s attention to the matter.
