For the last month, Ubisoft has made it their goal to clean up the online community for Rainbow Six Siege. Alongside issuing bans for chat toxicity, Boosting, and just plain cheating, the team behind the competitive shooter plans to enact even harsher punishments.

Players who are caught cheating will now lose the rank and rewards that they received during that time period.

“We are currently assessing how we will be delivering this from a technical side, but all players sanctioned for this will have their rank and rewards removed prior to the launch of Season 3,” Ubisoft wrote.

That means that any charms, skins, and anything else earned will be Last week alone, Ubisoft suspended around 1300 players caught cheating, each receiving 15-day suspensions.

Whether you agree with their system or not, it is safe to say that Ubisoft is at least proactive about trying to improve the game when it comes to cheating and toxicity. The company also stated that they realize what they are doing now isn’t a final solution to the problem as a whole.

“It was a stop-gap while we work on the solution, which is adjusting MMR gains/losses for all players in a match with a cheater.”

Ubisoft has yet to detail an exact timeline regarding when changes will be implemented in Rainbow Six Siege.
