An X post is going viral after California Senator Adam Schiff made his opinion about it known. It features a snippet of a speech President Donald Trump recently gave in which he says, “You know what I say, go out and buy a Dell computer.”

The Senator’s reply to this post, which was initially posted to X by journalist Aaro Rupar, reportedly accuses the President of pocketing billions of dollars by saying this after allegedly purchasing “at least $1 million of Dell stock in February.”

Trump bought at least $1 million of Dell stock in February.

Since then, he's repeatedly told Americans to buy Dell products.

No wonder he has pocketed $2.3 billion off the presidency. The grift never stops. https://t.co/eEqHMO6wSR

The video above is from an appearance President Donald Trump made in Marietta, Georgia, on Wednesday, July 22. During the same speech where he talks about purchasing Dell computers, he also called the company’s founder and his wife, Michael and Susan Dell, “Special, incredible people.”

According to Business Insider, the couple made a donation of $6.25 billion to Trump Accounts, launched in July, that creates savings accounts for children. For context, Michael Dell is the 5th-richest person on the planet, with a net worth of $229 billion, according to Forbes’ Real-Time Billionaires list.

Senator Adam Schiff’s response to the video accuses Trump of using this as an endorsement to heighten the company’s stock in light of his recent stock purchase. In fact, he specifically writes, “No wonder he has pocketed $2.3 billion off the presidency. The grift never stops.“

Interestingly, in response to this sizeable donation, Trump allegedly said, “We’re going to get him that money back one way or another.” Considering the initial student-focused reasoning behind the Trump Accounts, it is unclear what this specifically means.

Comments and Reactions Towards California Senator’s Comment Against Trump’s Alleged Dell Endorsement

Many comments were incredibly critical of Senator Adam Schiff’s post, with one comment reading, “An INVESTMENT FIEM bought Dell stocks, and I have a Dell, it’s a good computer! If Trump said buy a Suburban, you’d be saying Trump had stock in GM. You’re a joke!“

Others sided with President Trump himself, with another comment reading, “Since becoming president Trump turned the running of his company over to his sons. Trump doesn’t buy stock himself. It is not corrupt for him to help his son’s company make money. Trump is so wealthy he makes money even while he sleeps. That doesn’t make him corrupt.“

There were a few comments that agree with the Senator, but criticized his lack of action, with one reading, “She knows what needs to be done, so do it. You may not have the political capital today, but the midterms are coming. Be prepared.“

Overall, as the post continues to gain attention online, more people are sharing their opinions and frustrations online.
