A man in Las Vegas, Nevada, hoping to scare off undesired visits from five-finger discount criminals, decided to install a top-of-the-line security system in his front yard: a dirty toilet. And, to his surprise, and perhaps to the potential intruders’ disgust, it worked marvels.
The man responsible for the genius idea is Fitz, who runs Syco Bladeworks. He is a Las Vegas-based knifemaker and blacksmith, whose content focuses exclusively on his craft. That is, of course, until he uploaded the clip attached above, which quickly became his biggest one yet. It garnered 1.1 million views, 153,600 likes, and over 2,800 comments.
The Nevada man filmed himself in his front yard and presented his thief-proof device. This demonstration took place after a neighbor asked him why he would ever put a dirty toilet out for everyone to see and potentially be disgusted by.
“Well, you see, that’s my security system,” Fitz said.
The man briefly showed the state of his toilet. Every single inch of the piece of sanitary hardware was filthy, especially the trapway, bowl, lid, and seat. Not only that, but the toilet was missing its cistern lid altogether. Not that it would matter, as there is no way running water could ever flow through it.
Toilet Logic
Fitz then explained his top-notch security system. According to him, any individuals who dare to stare at his home for a potential theft session would get immediately discouraged by the toilet.
“See, when you put up security cameras and motion sensors, all you’re doing is making them wonder what you’re protecting,” he said while sitting on the toilet. “When they see my toilet, not only do they think there’s no good loot in my house, but they’re then in fear for their sanitary health and physical safety.”
The toilet ended up serving multiple purposes. The Nevada man said in the clip’s description that annoying solicitors also choose to avoid his house. And, as a cherry on top, it also makes for a “perfect beer drinking spot.”
Nevada Reacts
The man’s video sparked multiple responses, mostly from viewers who, while initially shocked, found his solution to be excellent. One said, “You have to get a dirty mattress too to seal the deal.” Another one commented, “Crack house vibes.”
Others told Fitz to be a bit careful with his front yard security system. One wrote, “It’s all fun and games until someone uses it.” Another one added, “I was with you until you sat on it.”
Apparently, Fitz explained his logic to the neighbor. Now, both of them have yard toilets.
